I've been on the road for the past three days....
NYC-DC-Charlston SC-Vero Beach FL-Key West
I've got some big decisions to make about where I might live in the near future.
Everywhere we've been has been awesome but for some reason the driving, even with stops and overnight hotel stays has been kicking the shit out of me, I'm sick and can't drive for more than 2 hours without wanting to just stop and take a long nap.
I've been sneezing my typical violent 3 sneezes in a row and its kind of dangerous when driving.
Driving down here in the south has actually been awesome with the 70mph speed limits (which means you're hauling over 80mph most of the time).
The south also has probably the best fast food/fast eats in america (chick-fil-A, waffle house, Cook Out) - but eating this heavy/rich/fat-salt-sugar ladened food has kicked my ass too. This is the first time i've actually experienced heart burn and being hung over the next day eating like this.
My car got dented in a hotel parking lot in Charleston SC, no one left a note and the hotel's security cameras weren't operational - so it wasn't worth filing a claim with the police/insurance.
Vero Beach is wicked awesome, but looks like it could get boring if you lived there full time.
the Florida Keys is awesome too, but I finally got my first traffic ticket in my 17 years of driving. I blew through a school zone going 45mph - the sun was in everyone's eyes and the school zone sign was actually on a high post overhanging the street so it was invisible with my visor down. plus there was a huge truck right behind me so there was no safe way to slow down without me getting rear ended. I was maybe going to try to argue my case but the police officer was really angry/agitated so I just profusely apologized and took the ticket without any resistance. I guess my first ticket is going to be one of the worst violations

tomorrow we start heading west to new Orleans which should be awesome but it would be nice to actually spend around 2-3 days in one place to get some rest and maybe fast away the southern food induced lethargy.
I really thought driving wouldn't be that hard, but shit I wish we just flew to the cities and packed light.
