I have gone from running the day to day show to being the grunt that does all the work. And, I am certain that this is being done on purpose (others in the office agree and have even mentioned it to HR). It seems as if they are trying to see how much shit I'll take before I leave. This combined with watching my boss prove daily that he has no idea what is is doing makes for a very miserable working experience.

Take my opinion for what it's worth, and I know it's easier said than done, but simply do not think about all this negative stuff if you can. From what I'm reading, your future at this particular company is pretty much done, and you seem to be coming to peace with that. The fact that it's not your fault and is an injustice is unfortunately irrelevant - corporate environments are snake pits and you can never fully control what happens around you and to you. Zone it all out, and focus on what's next for you. In the mean time, save and print all the dirt, emails, craptastic stuff you can - because when the injustice turns into pushing you out and screwing you even more, you'll have some ammo to negotiate a better package.

My hair guy moved away.

I sort of wanted to find a new guy anyways, but right now I just need to get my hair cut. I know that I will have time after work tonight, and my guy was always able to accommodate requests like that.

I feel for you. I think I mentioned this in "Things You Don't Get" as to why so many "stylists" in "salons" have not a clue as to how to cut hair. I moved about 4.5 months ago, have had 3 different cuts (all shitty of course) and yet to find anyone remotely competent. I miss my old guy Jamie confused.gif

I appreciate the thoughts. I am doing my best at ignoring it and coming to peace with the situation. I have good days and bad days, this week has been particularly annoying. The good part is when I leave the office I truly leave all the thoughts behind me and focus on all the things I enjoy doing in my free time. I haven't turned on my blackberry in 3 months.

I've been continuing to network with contacts in the business and putting word out there that I am looking for something new. Most have given me similar advice; Relax, enjoy the holidays and focus on getting things set up for next year. That is my plan but it's hard not to get anxious. Now I am hoping I can time it so I get my bonus and then leave ASAP after thet. Unfortunately, that means I need to make it through most of Q1.

I'm in a somewhat similar situation but it's less a case of being punished than watching everyone else drop the ball and never face reprisals, they just reassign it to me. And we're already short-handed.

It really bothers me when my girlfriend walks into the house while on the phone and continues to be on it for several minutes. I don't know why. I guess part of it is because I know it is her mother talking to her and she never shuts the fuck up.

so acidkid #2 got a couple of goldfishes from her preschool teacher as a christmas gift yesterday. I came home yesterday and she was all giggly and excited and placed the fish in this very small and old fishtank on a small table and placed a toy she can sit on beside it so she can just look at her first pets. she also told me the bigger of the two is [name of acidkid #1] and the smaller one is her. being that its a small tank the nanny placed a saran wrap over the tank just in case the fish might decide to jump. I opened up a corner of the saran wrap cover they placed, and told them I'll just get a larger fish tank today.

and so.... acidkid #1 just called me up at my office 10 minutes ago, obviously she just finished crying and said "daddy, the fishes are DEAD! they jumped out... you left the cover open!" I also found out acidkid #2 was inconsolable- bawling her eyes out while she was brushing her teeth... these are the things that will put them in therapy years from now.

I was walking the dog right now and almost got hit by a car barreling through a stop sign. the motherfucker was busy on his cellphone (and had his fucking iPhone buds in both motherfucking ears.). It was really fucking close (he screeched to a halt and his bumper was touching my jacket - he was in a BMW SUV).

Fuck it nothing happened, my dog was fine. Thats all that matters.

It is stunning how bad a cell phone can make a person drive. I can recall people saying it was as bad as a drunk driver and I never thought as much but since they have outlawed cell phones without hands free I've noticed it more often. Really they should be giving out much harsher tickets than what is doled out currently. LC got a ticket which made me buy some bluetooth handsets for the cars and I can honestly say I should have bought them years back.

Rough story about the fish, I hope your corporate health plan covers the years that will take to get over.

People say that using a cell phone is as dangerous as driving drunk? Which people are those?

Its a fairly common campaign quote in Europe...
