Told I can't do the job I've been promised over the run up to Christmas again yesterday (it changes daily, my real job is always "tomorrow" but I end up doing other jobs at my level and the one below alternating on at best a daily basis) but had to do it because the guy who actually has that job did fuck all as he couldn't be bothered on overtime, then halfway through decides to take over.

I get the blame for a fuckup when I am supposedly no longer responsible that part of the operation, and I have proof that I did what those at fault said I should have done at the time they said I should have done it and several times afterwards.

Other people come over to help and admit they had the same problem earlier in the shift but later blame me for it in the meeting at the end of the shift.

Three months after filing my W-7 and applying for an ITIN with the IRS, I got a letter last week that I need to provide a certified copy of my passport with a due date of 12/24. Obviously that couldn't happen this week because I'm in the US again. I have next week back in Canada where I'll have to surrender my passport to get it certified. Hopefully I can do it and be travelling again on 12/11.

The IRS also accepts originals but given their track record I have a feeling I won't get it back for months.

Apparently if I don't do it my application, which started back in March, will go back to the starting point again.

Yes, I am in that cohort, but damn, some of these kids are just plain ridiculous!

Reason I bring this up is one of my co-workers who just joined this summer. She's such a spoiled, entitled brat with a poor work ethic. All she looks forward to is planning vacation days and how to do less work.

It's no surprise she got a less-than-stellar performance review for her current project. She started whining to me how it Just Wasn't Her Fault and how she "worked until 11 pm once!"

Well, I know the details of her 'fuck up' that bombed her review, and it absolutely was her fault.

Some factoids about this colleague:
- Parents still pay for her rent
- Parents still pay for her cell phone bill
- Parents still pay for her car insurance
- Parents still give her a monthly allowance even though she has a full-time job

I mean, COME ON! I blame her parents just as much as she clearly was coddled to the max during her entire childhood.

Yesterday, she whines to me how she doesn't have anything to do until her 3 PM meeting and she asks me if she should just chill in her hotel until 2 PMish.. I mean.. seriously? You're going to come to the office, watch YouTube videos and surf the web for two hours, and then ask me if it would look bad if you go back to the hotel to just lounge around?

WTF!

Mother fucking aggressive street urchins.

 

At a friend's restaurant after hours, celebrating another friend's engagement (also found out tonight that the guy happens to be an SFer, though he mostly lurks because of his English), and this woman comes in with a big ole styrofoam box hung round her chest with a big ole cross painted on it. I don't understand a word she's saying (obviously), but she won't go away. We raised our glasses toward her (politely, not to be a dick), apologized, and tried to continue our discussion. She stands there for a few seconds, then she interrupts us again, and we politely ask her to leave. Stands there for a few moments, and she begins the spiel again. Eventually one of us starts being slightly rude to her (others tell him to calm down...though I certainly don't think he was acting out of line even a bit). She was clearly trying to get us to pay her to go away. Such are the worst form of bum.

 

 

The entire time she smells like hobo fungus.

The shit about her parents served as the backdrop for why she's so spoiled and entitled. It's her whiney attitude that I was bitching about.

Everything pisses me of today.


I'm currently waiting on two parcels from Italy both should have been here yesterday and it's 18:30 friday now, so nothing until monday.
The builder I have asked to make an offer on a projected, decided that deadlines wasn't for him and I now have to find someone else (it's a 100k$ plus order).
Simultaneously the sales rep from one of the biggest appliances manufactures has just waisted 10 days of my time, so now I have to get the competitor to rush a quote, so I can have it ready for my deadline.

And just to ad to my day the my bank, is acting like a bunch of idiots and I have to waste half my monday in court, due to my old boss.
