Why is this a problem? I do the same thing. Is it bad for us?

I don't know. I noticed that the back of the heel of my shoes got worn down very quickly, so I thought I'd try landing more in the middle of my foot. Striding that way feels much more natural and graceful to me. I don't know if it's actually better from a medical point of view, though.

Don't click the link unless you can bear to witness a huge fat monster. Jesus christ.

I wonder how much she weighed before they chopped her other leg off.

IIRC The human body is designed to land on the heel when walking.

It switches to midfoot strike when running in order to absorb the extra impact (but we have all been trained by athletic shoes to keep heel-striking while running)

Midfoot strike is especially odd to expect while walking in dress shoes since they have substantial heels. Your foot would have to be pretty angled to strike anywhere but the heel first.

Better to replace the heel insert (easy/cheap) than have to replace the sole while the heel is still in tip tip shape....or get heel taps.

Ahh, yes. That's definitely true. But I have metal taps put on the heels of my shoes. This substantially reduces wear. It also sounds totally awesome when I walk on hard surfaces.

I should be a little more specific: when I land, I land on the very back of my heel--like as far back on the heel as you can possibly land.

It is also very embarrassing to walk next to you. Just sayin.

You don't have a sufficient sample size. I was very drunk that night.

Then you tie each of their limbs to the back of monster trucks, which will drive in different directions and thus pull their limbs off. Then you harpoon them. You do this in a public place, where you can sell tickets.
Because fat people are like animals who can't stop themselves from indulging their basest impulses.

Wouldn't this be a bit overkill? I mean, I really can't stand morbidly obese people, but djeez... You have a twisted mind.shog[1].gif

On a side note, got hit by another car on the evening commute. Not too much damage, but still an annoyance. Have to come in later tomorrow because I cant drive to work without a license plate.

Now for the hassle to plan the repairs foo.gif

Ugh just found out my friend was fired from his shitty company. And they sponsored him to work in the U.S. I hope he's not totally fucked by them.

Minimus Zero Life is a terrible name for a running shoe.

Look into Newton running shoes. They are specifically designed to have you land on your forefoot first:
