I'm getting so sick of all the media coverage of the shitty songs that Taylor Swift writes about all the guys that got bored fucking her.

In 1926, the American Chemical Society officially decided to use aluminum in its publications.

Who cares about an organisation from a backwards country that still uses pounds, cubits, cwt, daktylos, and other anachronistic units of measure.

I assure you my fruitcakes are loaded with kirsch and rum and are very delicious, not like your grandmama's.
hb, I like a good fruitcake - my mom used to make them every year, and they were oh so good. Mail me a slice or two, please. biggrin.gif

Holidays are annoying.

the wife had to leave early this morning, leaving with with getting the kids off to school. which is not really a big deal. everything was going smoothly until i got a call that the person who watches our youngest had an emergency and had to go to the hospital. now i am stuck at home with the baby, which is also not big deal by itself.

but, as much as i like getting to go to work late, i had a bunch of stuff i was supposed to take care of today. my boss understands the situation, but he is not thrilled, and neither am i, tbh. i know if i dont get this done today, its gonna bite me in teh ass later.

dammit, I still haven't made fruitcakes yet. I think I have all the ingredients, too. Just got to break out the rum and start soaking the fruit.

I work with a woman who has an autistic son. She is constantly having to use vacation days due to issues with sitters and such. In her case it is much more difficult to find somebody good because of his needs. I feel very bad for her. It must be hard to be in her place. Her constant enthusiasm and positive attitude astound me. I try to take a lot from her. Even when she heats up fish in the office microwave, the fucking bitch.

My little cousin was born without part of her brain and is I guess you could say "moderately" mentally challenged. I don't know how my aunt & uncle do it.

I had neighbors in Rhode Island that adopted like 5 handicapped children. They were rich (guy was a inventor/engineer) and they did everything themselves. Just thinking about them makes me feel totally inadequate as a human.

Yeah, at the same time though this woman makes it extra hard for herself. Both she and her husband are these "all-natural" freaks. The refuse to give the kid medication of any kind and they just try to regulate his fits with diet. They even spent something like $3,000 a month for several months to rent this oxygen chamber they would put him in daily to supposedly get more oxygen into his body. Her husband sounds like a nutso and definitely isn't the moneymaker of the family and is opposed to so much medical treatment that would probably make everybody's lives much easier.

Yeah the US doesn't have any influence at all in science.

When one of the rest of you pissant countries gets your ass to the moon we can have a discussion about renaming it aluminium. Until then, you'll call it aluminum and like it.
