Car talk on youtube. People really have no fucking idea what they're talking about. It's like boxing talk. People just pull complaints out of their ass.

Working 8am to midnight 7 days a week and most of the time it feels like we are working to stand still. Customers with unreasonable expectations and suppliers with ego issues make for one angry phonecall after another.

FLMM, good decision. that kind of thinking, and behavior, will serve you well in your marriage.

Yeah, thanks, but it was really a lot harder decision than I'm making it out to be. When my wife first told me, my exact words were "fuck that, we don't owe them a damn thing. Unilateral mistake, completely unenforceable". Even my initial email that I had typed out only offered them 50%. The more I thought about it though - I was like, so I'm willing to do 50% of the right thing? I'm one of those guys that rants about how we have to make laws for everything because our culture no longer judges/forces people to do the right thing. It was hard to actually walk the walk.

im sure it was. a G is a significant amount of money for the vast majority of people, certainly for me. not easy to part with, especially when one has fair reason not to.

This is basically what people mean when they say "when the chips are down". You behaved honorably, which is not just something to be proud of, but worth a damn sight more than $1k. I only hope I have the strength to do the right thing when necessary.

GAAAH, I was about to get tickets for Willie Nelson's Railroad Revival (stops close to the house for a show) - and it's cancelled. Apparently things get complicated out on the rails or something.

Damn. It. All.

that was an assumption on my part. who the eff goes to a steakhouse and does not eat steak, are you watching your weight after a hurtful email you aired at work?

WTF is it with Toronto traffic? I had to drive into town for a quick face to face meeting (the office was east of the Don Valley Parkway) right after lunch. Took me 30 minutes to get in of course in the west bound lanes count them not one but two accidents one near the CNE and the other near Spadina on the elevated section of the Gardiner Expressway. Took me two hours to leave Toronto, yes two hours. To the D-bags who weren't paying attention and rear ending people in front of them because they followed two closely on the Gardiner. Thanks for wasting my time along with thousands of other people.

I have no idea why anyone would want to drive to work downtown when the GO train is cheaper, less stressful and someone else is doing the driving.

good for you

also, I bet you were feeling a little reamed out by them after the wedding, right? its easy to say "hey they surely made a fortune on us and cheated us on some things, so we get ours back" but it really is better to do the right thing, espectially at the begining of your new life

Two periods of the class were outsourced to part-time teachers, the last is mine. He agreed to my suggestion to try to find another part time teacher for that class so I would have a more balanced workload as well as not have a 6 day work week. Today, he again was talking to others confirming that I was the teacher for that course and that they didn't need to look for part-time teachers. Confused by this, I again requested a meeting and explained my situation and again he agreed with my suggestion to find a part-time teacher to replace me while I taught the Saturday course in the meantime. No less than 30 minutes later when I get home I receive an email from someone on the senior management team again saying that I would continue teaching the class for the rest of the term. So, what the fuck. I emailed him and politely asked what the fuck was going on, eagerly waiting for a reply.

Is your boss Chinese?
