Roommate is getting on my nerves.
1.) For the past couple of weeks his tongue has been twitching. He has utterly convinced himself that he has ALS and is wallowing in misery. I've had issues with anxiety and hypochondria but this is far worse. I was at my parents' house last night but he apparently went to the ER and told the docs about his concerns. They told him what the two or three other doctors already did: you are suffering from anxiety, not ALS or any other motor neuron disease. But it's just not clicking with him, and the Xanax and Abilify don't seem to be doing the trick. At this point my patience is gone and I've been very terse and harsh. Just can't take it anymore.
2.) He has been asking to use my car with greater frequency. It used to be once or twice a month, which is fine. Occasionally he considers getting his own ride but always backs off due to cost and the fact that his credit is terrible. I really don't know how he does it, this is a totally car-dependent area. Our neighborhood is very walkable, luckily, but you just can't leave the 'hood without a car.
3.) Always asks to eat whatever leftovers I have in the fridge. I cook in fairly large batches so that I have leftovers for lunch and/or dinner the next day. He knows this, yet will still ask. Tonight I flat-out said, "Nope, that's my food for tomorrow." Can't recall the last time I saw him cook anything.
Not a bad guy but this woe-is-me malaise of his is driving me crazy. Looking forward to getting a 1BR next year.
