Things that are pissing you off. - Page 2329
At least Japanese people have spatial awareness. The flow of people down the sidewalks always seems smooth. Getting on and off a train is never a problem. People seem to actually understand how to act in a big city.
Contrast that with HK, where people keep straight up walking into me. No apologies or anything. Talked to local people about it and they say it happens to them too. Chinese people give zero fucks, I guess. But the crowds here can feel crushing in a very different way than in Tokyo or Seoul, for instance.
Also: Doesn't seem like people kan be bothered to lift their umbrellas any higher than exactly my eye height either. I'm sure I'll go blind every time it rains.

Two of my dogs are at the animal hospital with what looks like leptospirosis, or perhaps some kind of fungal poisoning. We have four dogs, so frankly I have to wonder if the other two are not sick, too. But the two that are there now are extremely lethargic and jaundiced and crashing, and bloodwork is showing severe liver and kidney failure. Left a deposit of over $1,000 per dog, and that's the "low estimate." High estimates are more like $3,500. For what very likely could be a losing battle. And could affect two other dogs as well. My wife is distraught; she was sobbing at the animal hospital, and our 3-year-old daughter was also crying because her mommy was crying, as we got to hold our little dogs for what could be the last time, before leaving them in a cold animal hospital for the night.

sorry to hear this.
be the bigger man dude. go to his room tonight while he's sleeping, slip under the sheets, hold him tight and whisper softly to his ear that you're sorry.
this all came about because i took the stupid tiger off his golf clubs and tossed it in his room.
So I'm going to sounds like a whiney little bitch here.

Its just starting to occur to me that I'm moving across the damned atlantic in seven days. I have seven days to hang out with my girl, who I've basically spent every non-working waking hour with for the last five years (granted thats like twenty hours a week).

So I'm going to sounds like a whiney little bitch here.

Its only now I realize that this won't be as easy as the last few times I've just fucked off for a year or two across a few thousand miles (I have a habit of doing this periodically) because of her. I'm not sure how well I'm going to handle it, especially given the extremely limited contact we'll have until we get internet set up and I get a phone that will work with skype over there. On top of this, she's never really gone it solo in terms of supporting herself and living alone, so I'll be worrying a lot about her (I've been supporting her financially and emotionally since she moved in five years ago).
I know we'll be fine, I'm just feeling like this is going to be a major adjustment for me, and not in a good way. Oh well. I'll stop bitching now.
I feel for you liam...my gf leaves for grad school tomorrow morning...she will be at syracuse and I will be in boston...I will see her at most 4 days a month for the rest of the year...

Same boat, but I'm the one leaving. Reykjavik. She's moving in next door to her sister in TN, and I live in NJ so I'll be here during the breaks, and its doubtful I'll have the money to visit her more than once a year.
Best of luck to you re: shit roomy and absentee missus!
I need to get form LGA (La Guardia Airport) to long island. Anyone have any recommendations that are not going to cost me 200 USD. I called and asked about the van and private car service, ridiculous.

Oh and I will be arriving at LGA at 11 am today.
fawk, I just realized my flight leaves at 6 am.

A little background--- I am attorney in a mid-sized manhattan law firm.
The following is from my new associate that they hired -- without my input. She had temped here for six months and missed more days sick than I have had off (vaca or otherwise) in the last two years. One of the partners here made sure to cut me out of the process, as he knew my contempt for her. He thought he could "teach her." She has been hear nearly 8 mos and still cannot prepare the most basic of legal documents without significant revisions. He still insists she can learn.
Really?

So I'm going to sounds like a whiney little bitch here.

I am going to be in the same boat next year, pal. She's going to teach English in Cambodia for a year.

acid I'm always the bigger man...he always tries to toss it in my face "oh go to the gym more" but it honestly wasn't about that it had nothing to do with who is stronger or who makes more money etc but he always tries to boil it down to those things...he was being very immature stormed in my room and yanked the sheets off my bed and threatened to break my sunglasses. I had to take command of the situation as i saw fit.

You should have put your balls on his drum set.

I think something is in the water here at work... too many stupid lazy people who should be on a soup line. So -- rather than keep it pent up driving myself crazy, I will share for your amusement.

Is she attractive? I'm guessing the partner is teaching her how to "pierce the corporate veil."
