Part of their reaction is also to the fact that I get them behind their back - but I do that because they hate them so much. I'm 23 by the way, graduated, moving out as soon as I find a job.
Had an important interview for one today actually - talked to my dad afterwards yesterday: "You should probably go take a walk, clear your head a bit so you can sleep well before your interview tomorrow." I THOUGHT MY MOTHER WAS DEAD. Ugh. If I'm going to get therapy for this, they're paying.

where are the tats that your parents can see them?

DO IT. Not only will you wear down your teeth but, as Iam has shown, you will wear down your gums from the constant grinding. Go get one from your dentist thats custom molded to your teeth. I've had mine for a few years now. Best $600 I've spent in a long time.

A small one on my right wrist, easily coverable with a watch or a shirt if needed. And two big ones on my left ribs and my chest - again, not visible when wearing more formal work attire. It's not as I'm getting my hands done or something, don't even have sleeves (yet)

so how did they know?

anyway, good luck. my son's daughter keeps poking shit through her face, and he doesn't argue with her about it, because he doesnt' want to alienate her. so you can never tell how this will work out

Previous ones were spotted through my stupidity - I have no idea how they found out about this one, but the friend who did it as a present for me posted a tagged picture on fb (not visible to my parents) without asking me for permission, guess it spread from there.

And I don't expect them to change their mind - but hopefully I'll be moving out soon, and then I don't have to care about their opinion anymore.

Dumb question: Why not just a cheap mouthguard, soaked in hot water, like you do for the football team?

Are we talking about the night guards here?

I wear one for boxing, they aren't that comfortable, I'd hate to sleep in it

Good ways to wrap up the end of a weird fucking week:

Realized that I somehow damaged/broke a 100k+ laser system, which now needs to be sent off and repaired. Not really my fault, more a poor design but blows regardless. I can't really do any useful work until it's finished. ffffuuuu.gif

Earlier this week, had a biopsy on a weird mole. Found out a few minutes ago that it turned out to be benign melanoma, so no skin cancer. Yay. But still needs to have additional "minor surgery" to make sure it's all good. Awesome. I do love a good "minor surgery." My arm still hurts from the damn biopsy.

Cheers re: the good news, and good luck with the procedure!

I once did buy a $20 night-time mouth guard from CVS. It was bulky, uncomfortable, and I woke up with a really sore jaw. I think you really need a custom-fitted one for it to help.
