This is the only reason I could not be a college professor. I know bitches would come and be like, "I really need a good grade to get into law school" and I'd be all "I'll give you an A if you show me your double-Ds."

Ask her if she's in the right exam.

Both said something like this: "I didn't follow the stuff you said on Monday. Can you explain it again?" I lectured for an hour and a half! They don't tell me which parts they didn't get; they just want me to explain all of the stuff again via e-mail. I won't even lie, I laughed in appreciation for the utter ballsiness of the request. I should add that one of these requests came the morning of the exam, i.e., this morning.

(that is what you should reply) Do you allow for students to record your lecture? I was in class and someone asked the professor to explain the entire homework assignment, WTF its intro to accounting.

I can't figure out where the eff they are coming from...but its a bathroom so its always wet after showering (no exhaust fan). I wonder how long it takes them to spawn; can they pop out babies in the toilet while I am at work?

fruit flies are a pain to get rid of, well at least in my experience, get on that fast.

OTC: those are drain flies, not fruit flies. they live in the organic matter trapped in your pipes. get some drain-o and try burning them out, and if that doesn't work you need to get a snake and clean out your drains.

I've had students come to my office and say things like "I'm willing to do anything to get an A." (Strong emphasis on "anything" accompanied by a demeanor that's hard to misinterpret.) I always pretend that I didn't get the message, and I suggest more effective ways of studying for the next exam!

It was just about the way things have been going down lately, you know? Stuff like that.

That's tough to deal with. I always gives exams and papers back at the end of the class because if I give them back at the beginning, I sometimes have to watch students crying. Sometimes they are male students too. Of course there's nothing you can do about students crying during the exam itself.

That is actually a detail I left out! One of my students records my lectures, but his recording device didn't work that day. He actually came up to me right after class and wanted me to re-explain the whole lecture to him right then and there! I told him that that wasn't feasible. So then he sent the request by e-mail.

You're an idiot.

So, I don't know if this is pissing me off or what but last night I went fishing and I was dying of thirst. I went to the McDonald's down the road, got a bottle of water. While in there I saw three people and they really stood out. One dude was sitting on his laptop I guess using the wifi which seemed like a weird place to do that but whatever, he seemed content and htere one dude who was sitting there and it looked like he had been there for a while and wasn't doing much else other than playing games on his phone but had got dressed up to go out and one woman who was clearly an immigrant and on break just staring off into space, was there for a few minutes and she didn't budge at all.

I felt sorry for them, it made me realize there are many many incredibly lonely people out there. frown.gif

I was traveling for work yesterday and got an urgent e-mail I needed to reply to ASAP. I didn't feel like tapping it all out on my phone though and I happened to be passing a McDonalds and I know they have free wifi so I figured I'd pop in and grab some dinner too.

What a weird fucking place. There was some crazy immigrant lady there and another lonely looking dude playing on his phone but worst of all in walks this clearly awkward guy, all disheveled and smelling strongly of fish and he orders a bottle of water and starts staring at everyone like they're crazy. Then he's sitting there in the corner and I'm pretty sure he was stroking himself through his pants.

Rough night last night. I'll skip some of the details but I cracked a rib last night, teh wief was out at a school board work session and got home after I put the kids to bed. Thunderstorms rolled in and soaked us, which was good for the ground and pool, but the dogs didn't want to go out after that. Dog woke me up at midnight, wife woke me up at 2 with a bad case of stomach flu, and again at 4. Usually I can salvage a day if I can get some running in early, but baby girl woke up at 4:30 and kept feigning sleep until I set her down in bed. Then she'd get up again. frown.gif

The upside is that I had a leisurely shower and breakfast, which never happens. But I'm dragging today, really badly.
