Have some malware on my desktop. **** popped up right when I was getting ready to go to bed about four hours ago, but I figured I should take care of this now. Installed Malwarebytes (which was a ***** because this malware was blocking me from even using the 'net) and did a full scan. The scan about was about two and a half hours in (i.e. almost finished) and the program suddenly stopped working and shut down

I hope it works out for you APK. If not, try rebooting your computer using its history from like a week or so ago when you didn't have that malware. If not, you can always wipe the harddrive, hopefully you back your stuff on an external hd

^Seems a bit drastic. I've had stuff like that happen. Pretty much any virus that's been out there for some time has been figured out by some fourteen year old boy. I'd youtube it, seriously.

Or if that fails google it.

Getting rid of the one I had, something posing as a virus scanner, was in the end quite easy. Just kill the process on start up with task manager and then find and delete the specific folder. YMMV, of course.
