I've had the ***** since Monday. Took a trip to the mensroom maybe 4 times at work then twice at night. I'm on track for 5 trips today, plus one before I showered.

Supposed to work out today. Not sure if I'll risk it.

And the more you show it bothers you, the more it will happen. Do you know anything about locker room psychology? Laugh at yourself and others will laugh with you. Defend yourself and others will laugh at you.

Man, this happens every so often, but here goes.

First, my mom's good people. She's prone to histrionics and rampant Republicanisms, but other than that we're good. She'd probably like Ayn Rand, but, well...no more piling on here. Anyway, she knows we have been foster parents for a few years now, have been involved with agencies, meet with with the state CPS officials, sit on a few non-profit boards, know the rules and regulations and whatnot. Add to this that the Mrs. is a lawyer who clashes with the agencies, the school board and our son's school on a regular basis - and generally prevails - and at some point you've got to assume that we know what's going on re: foster care.

That doesn't stop her from forwarding an inflammatory email about moms who pop out children like an assembly line and relinquish them to the grandmothers, who then collect scads of money for taking care of their grandchildren. Now, I don't know IL law and I don't really care; but when you then tell me that you know of someone who's doing this very thing happening in this very state when we know very well that the state's pretty stringent about NOT doing this, it gets kinda annoying. In fact, we chatted last week with a grandmother who's taking care of four grandkids and not getting a dime, despite her best efforts. But, whatev.

Now, when I call her out on this sort of thing and remind her that we're closer to the situation than she is...she gets all huffy. Then it's defensive, and after that she disavows the inflammatory position of the email, saying that just because she forwarded it to us doesn't mean she believes or subscribes to the views expressed therein. Usually at this point I'm

and

, but, you know, what the hell?

So, tonight the Mrs and I will probably laugh about this and move on. No point in engaging.

so, this being my last semester of college and all, my gf and i decided we were going to go to disney world. awesome! so we purchase the tickets a couple of weeks ago - cheap ass nonrefundable jet blue tickets - and we schedule the date on may 5th, the day after my classes end. she takes off work, we reserve some hotel rooms. and today i get an email that a professor decided - on a whim - to give us a take home final due the 5th. i asked him today if he'd be ok with me handing it in a day early, and he said 'hed think about it' ...

LA City Council raising cab surcharge from $2.50 to $4.00 for all rides out of LAX.

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lano...ment-firm.html

It was easier since there is a $15 minimum + $2.50 surcharge = $17.50.

with the new charge its $19.00.

So now I have to take out something more than just a $20 bill.

Just got a bad cold days before I'm supposed to fly to NC to see my best friend. A trip that is supposed to be a blast now has the potential to be terrible.
