so i was supposed to fly today but roads are utter ****.

Had ordered a taxi day before, they said today no one was going out.

Decide I'm going to give it a shot and try to drive.

Could have done it but play it safe and head home.

Hear on the way back radio said FAA was not allowing planes to leave because they couldnt be de-iced fast enough.

Call the airline have to go through a giant rigmarole to be rescheduled.

Realize I'd have been at the airport by now.

Airline says itll cost $777 more to be on the flight tomorrow as its a different plane and seats are better and today's flight is going off.

That's cool except I don't know if the budget allows for that, emailed the person coordinating the trip but because they are in korea haven't heard back.

Work is pretty clear that if its too dangerous to leave for work in the morning, don't. Its a no questions asked policy. Still I'm afraid I may get in trouble for this.

Also was going to use this as a way to clear my head a little.

I'm just upset about the breakup. Not sad or anything, just upset, like, not sure what to do next. Now that I got what I want, now what? Is this really what I want, etc. I know there's a friendship we'll always have, but now's not the time for it. And of course all I want is that friendship. Like the person who could make me feel better is her, and not qua GF, like just she was the only one who could. Such is life I guess.

Just insecure now and not really confident. I guess that counts.

at least work understands and tehy are cool. I may just go later in the year. Still think I should/could have gone to the airport today. Better to not go then go and I find out I shouldn't have I suppose.

Bollocks - I'm supposed to be due into Atlanta today but the flight got cancelled. Rescheduled for Wednesday. Thing is, I was struggling to get all ducks in a row all last week including fighting spotty hotel vacancies.

The office also closed too. I don't know why these closures aren't announced say Friday afternoon when I was booking the transportation.

One of my freshmen from undergrad died yesterday morning in a car accident. I mentored the kid through his freshmen year when I was a senior and it is hitting me a lot harder than I expected. He did very well for himself in the organization and I was proud to have influenced him, but sad to see that he didn't get to finish his senior year.

That is tragic - I'm sorry to hear that.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for any significant commitment out of this. I can't even keep a house plant alive, no way I can keep any sort of relationship alive.

2. Boss not turning around edits on my memo fast enough even though deadlines are nearing fast. Her deadlines.

3. My wife's lack of vacation time.

I call you so damn seldom that you ought to have figured out by now that a phone call from me means that I've exhausted my own resources and need legitimate help.

I dunno how big your company is, but in most cases, it means they have work to do. You're not the only person that they provide help for. If you're going out of your way to call their boss and the owner, that's not exactly going to rub them the right way either.

I don't know the logistics of the whole scenario so maybe they are assholes. In that case, you need to take that to HR - not the owner.
