Why is everyone carrying purses, going to beauty parlors, and hiking up their pants like capri pants? Is this a New York thing? Well, its pissing me off. Also pissing me off is the boy-man weekend outfit, shorts, golf shirt, and sneakers. The only thing missing is a pair of tube socks and a headband.

Ugh. My computer was crippled by viruses this afternoon and I spent almost two hours with Windows assistance getting it fixed. They computer sharing feature was fun to watch, but otherwise,

its sunday, and I purposely did not go up the bike trails today to spend more time with the kids and maybe go to church after a long while. and also, since it finally stopped raining we could finally go out somewhere nice.

then I have to show up at work.

As I noted in the "happy" thread, MrsG's sisters came to town for the weekend, along with one sister's boyfriend and daughter (daughter isn't his). This was the first time I met the boyfriend, and he is a complete jackass. Given he's dating a family member, I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but every time I thought he couldn't screw up more he found another way to do something stupid.

My favorite "this guy is a jackass" story of the weekend:

My brother and I set a tee time for 9:00 Saturday morning, and as a nice gesture I thought I'd invite Jackass along with us. On Saturday morning, 8:20 rolls around, and there's still no word from Jackass/sister's bedroom. MrsG knocks on their door and tells them he needs to get moving. At about 8:25, he wanders from the bedroom to the bathroom, where he spent the next half hour. At 8:55, as I walk out the door to leave him, he appears from the bathroom ready to go.

We manage to get to the course ten minutes after our tee time, but they're kind enough to let us play. When the time comes to pay our green fees it turns out that Jackass forgot his wallet. I pay his fees just so we can get on the damn course, and he assures me he'll get me cash after we play.

We get on the course, where we discover that he didn't bring enough balls. I brought about 10 balls, and I lost three. By the end of the round, he'd lost all of his balls, all of the ones I'd loaned him, and a few from my brother. Because Jackass lost all of mine, I actually had to borrow some from my brother to finish playing, and Jackass had to sit out the last couple of holes.

Jackass also had the worst course etiquette I've ever seen. He had a penchant for standing nearby and talking just as I started to take swings at crucial junctures/in tough spots. He used a sand trap as a path back from the green to the cart path at least once and completely ignored the 90* rule. He left his tees in the turf after teeing off. He never brought his putter when he was near the green, so every time he pitched/chipped he'd walk from the cart to his ball, hack away, walk back to the cart, get his putter, and walk back to putt. He almost hit me with a ball at least twice, and he nearly hit other players a couple of times (my brother and I had to yell "fore" because Jackass didn't find it necessary to do so).

Oh, and when we got home he informed me that he wasn't sure if his paycheck had been deposited, but he assured me he'd write me a check for the green fees if it hadn't. About an hour later he told me he hadn't been paid, and he'd cut me a check for the fees. Later that evening he informed me that he didn't have a checkbook, so he'll be mailing me a check. Riiiiiiight.

Suffice it to say, I'm not rooting for this guy to be around for long.

^^It is hard for me to believe that these kinds of people actually exist. I never had to interact with one for longer than an hour or so.

If I hadn't spent the weekend with him I never would have believed it.

The golf story is just the one that's easiest to tell without context; he spent most of the weekend doing equally facepalm-inducing things. The crazy thing was how forgiving we all tried to be, only to have him screw up even more. I kept thinking "he's just uncomfortable, give him time" and "he can't possibly do something more stupid than this." I was wrong nearly every time. Each time I cut him some slack he used the extra rope to hang himself. In fact, I think the only reason I didn't completely lose my mind was because he became a comedy of errors, and I actually hit a point where I was almost waiting to see what he'd do next.

Appreciate it. Fortunately, he didn't manage to ruin the weekend. For the most part we all sort of rolled our eyes and brushed it off, though there were a couple near blow-ups. I'm just grateful that everyone had the chance to be together (and hopeful he won't be there next time around).

I'd like to start out by saying that the opposite of everything on Emma's list is what's pissing me off. Also, America and nationalism.

But the real point of my post: My girlfriend and I have only hung out 4 times for a total of 7ish hours in a four week time span (of which about 2.5 weeks she was out of town). This pisses me off to no end. If it weren't for the fact that I actually like her and she that she has semi decent excuses I wouldn't still be with her. Also we're breaking up when I go to college, which makes things easier. Maybe she'll get her game together and I will actually see her more often than my mailman in the upcoming weeks.
