last time i was in israel the news reported how someone got stalled on the redlight for the left turn(most cars in israel are still gear shift), and the guy behind got out and stabbed the person.

Sorry if this has already come up, but escalators are pissing me off lately.

I usually ride the escalator side-by-side with my wife and people behind think they have the right of way to pass even if there is no space. Seems like they think there is some rule that you are supposed to line up single file and I am the one blocking traffic.

If you are in such a hurry, take the damn stairs!

umm actually, pretty much everyone would disagree with that. It's not a fucking ride, and it's basic etiquette in just about every country in the world that people who want to just stand there stay to the right, and people who want to use the escalator to get somewhere faster use the right. You can hold your wife's hand and be chivalrous standing behind here. No need to obstruct people who need to move a little faster. Do you not get that the stairs are actually worse if you're in a hurry?

You and your wife are definitely wrong here.

+1

When I'm in a tube station and someone is not obeying the escalator rule they will usually get a sharp elbow and usually some expletive about tourists.

Another +1. You stand on the right, you walk on the left. There is a special circle of hell reserved for groups of people (2 or more) who monopolize escalators and sidewalks, where they are given ten minutes to travel five blocks, but every possible walkway that will take them to their destination is filled with elderly couples and morbidly obese people moving at a slow crawl.

I may get some flak for this, but I also cant stand when people think that just because they have a couple of little trolls (children) with them they can take up the entire width of the sidewalk.

I'm not saying you have to lock them away at home, just realize that when your stroller is a double wide, and you are walking abreast of your baby daddy, and the troll is wabbling along on the other side of you, no-one can get by. And since your kid cant walk a straight line yet, we are all left to keep the pace pace of the lowest common denominator.

There was a youtube video somewhere of a guy who carried around a bike bell and rather than saying excuse me would just ding people to get them out of the way. Where is my screwdriver? Where is my bike?
