Had planned to go to the Indiana State Fair today, but it's closed because of the tragic stage collapse last night. Very sadly, 5 people died and about 45 were injured. A wind gust blew the structure down as a storm approached the area. Interestingly the storm wasn't very severe and lasted only a short period but the devastating wind gust was estimated to be about 60 mph. It's a sad day in Hoosier land.

Apparently the hardwood floor guy stopped by and has decreed that the floors in my apartment are toast.

I was hoping they would leave the bedroom floor as it is (its not that bad...wouldn't need replacement, just a little sanding and finishing) until I move out so that I could pile all of my furniture in the bedroom and go away for a weekend while they replace the kitchen and living/dinging room floors. Instead I think he figures if he is replacing some floor, he might as well replace all of it.

The super told me the landlord is going to call on monday and work something out. It sounded like they will try to put me in another unit in my building (hopefully in my building...I have zero interest in the other shit they manage). This could be nice as they would give me a higher rent unit at my current price and it would get me out of the garden unit...but I have seen units with several of the other floorplans in this building and I liked the garden unit the best. There is an almost identical unit 2 floors above me but it had some idiotic counter setup in the kitchen and is now occupied (and the the other matching floorplans have not been renovated and thus suck). Also,having someone living below you in a 100 year old building pretty much means no more p90x or similar things indoors.

Worst part is I started the process of fixing up the bathroom on thursday...fixed the bad drywall and am painting today/tomorrow...and might not even live here next month (but still have to finish it because I can't actually use the shower and stuff without putting down some paint).

You think a couple trying something new and out of the ordinary says they've given up on life? I'd say it's very much the opposite. Not to mention them not caring how out of place they may be, if it keeps them happy good for them.

Pissy neighbors who pound on our front door at 2am. My wife answers the door (having previously been asleep) and the bitches proceed to verbally chew her out. Apparently, my playing acoustic guitar to myself in my office, playing on garage band and all, was loud enough to prevent them from sleeping, but not loud enough to wake my wife a room over...?

Come to find out they're the couple in charge of kids' classes at our local congregation for the youngest of children (2-3 years old). Midway through, the woman comes in to the adult class and throws our daughter at my wife saying "You'll just have to take care of her." My daughter is sobbing so hard she's struggling for breath, eyes bright red and puffy, and this bitch is screaming at my wife about how she needs to take her and can't have disruptions in her class. My daughter isn't the type to cry at all, even not getting her way, and so I immediately think she's been hurt - the only time she'll maybe have a few tears fall, but not gasping for air and so red in the face. And now I want to know exactly what happened in that kids' room. When we finally get her calmed down and ask if she wants to go back to Sunday school, she almost breaks down again, and can just say "No, no! - Just go, just go home"

Not sure I fell or go robbed. But If I was robbed why do I still have my wallet (with cash in it for once) and fancy clothes? Either way, I was wearing glasses which are totally unharmed (the welts are near my eye so it should've broken or bent the frame). I'm thinking I left them at a bar by accident but the last one I was at (AFAIK) doesn't have them. I'm getting too old for this shit.

To pick on a child is just vile...

Go somewhere else to sunday school after talking to your priest/pastor...

I quit this shitty serving job a week ago, and the owner now will not quit harassing me: I seriously just went through 15 voice mails about how either he wants me to come back or he wished he fired me. Fuck him. I wake up and there are 2-3 missed calls. During the day more calls! Uggh, I can't just turn off my phone, I need that. If he wants people to work for him, he needs to quit being a huge douche.
