Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW!

Not "pissed off" exactly...but what is with all of the death recently? In the last two weeks I lost two old dear friends...one in a plane crash and the other to cancer.

How about no TV station showing anything remotly interesting after 1AM? Christ, the best thing on is Futurama reruns. I like Futurama, but I've seen 'em all a million times.

On another front, we took in a stray cat a month ago - found him at a seafood restaurant and wouldn't leave us alone, and we couldn't leave him. Just now got the test results from the vet: Feline AIDS. Which means we can't keep him without jeopardizing our two current cats.

Here's the kicker - he's quiet, sweet, and agreeable. We either find him a home or have him put down.

Jesus, that's a horrible story Thomas. Feline AIDS? WTF is that?

On a related note, Conne should probably get tested.

As my vet put it, it's HIV that mutated to affect cats, or FIV. From what he describes, it's not all that different from HIV in that cats can live normally for a while - a few years, probably - but at some point things go bad as the cat is more prone to other infections. Communicable through close contacts generally involving fluids (e.g. fighting, grooming) but the virus doesn't live long outside the body. It is life-long and contageous to other cats, but not to dogs or humans (or Conne - well...maybe Conne).

Anyway, our vet put this cat between 1 and 2 years old which isn't making my mood any better. Also I have the suspicion that this cat has been put out at least once before by someone else who learned of this cat's condition, which has taken the wind out of my sails.

I am running through a meaningless 17 page contract a big customer wants me to sign. It is a bunch of freaking busywork.

Chipped a molar tooth yesterday while eating BBQ ribs. Hurts like hell right now and I don't currently have dental insurance.
