I have a philosophical objection to cupcakes. Magnolia is also super lame.

I have a similar transportation device for deviled eggs. It's awesome.

The best deviled egg I've ever had still wasn't as good as the worst omelet I've ever had.

It's not taste, per se, it's usually texture. I had a really good version of one a couple weeks ago. Spicy seasoned shrimp one...it's always the texture of the egg white that gets me.

Me too. Well, I don't really like cake in general. Would much rather have pie, or mousse, or just about anything really. If I am going to have cake, I mostly see it as a delivery mechanism for frosting, in which case I would usually rather have a cupcake, just because it usually has more icing on it. But this recent obsession with cupcakes? Do not get it.

My office is near the Magnolias in Midtown, and that place is a shitshow, all day, every day. And the cupcakes are not even very good--stale and hard, which is surprising given the volume that place must do. Bleh.

I love deviled eggs. Agreed that texture is very important though. :) Spicy shrimp deviled egg sounds fantastic.

My objection to cupcakes is that cake is supposed to be a communal thing. The ritual of cutting the cake, lining up to get a piece etc is all very social. Cupcakes take the social aspect out of cake and turn it into a personal, antisocial ordeal.

That being said, I prefer pie to cake.

Fair enough, that's actually a pretty good argument. Hadn't thought of that before.

But yeah, pie :fistbump:

Cupcakes, for some reason, now make me think of that program where the ********* that wants to **** Obama is the star and it's about girls in NYC.
