Are they really going to do a hair test?

Should be gone from every other type of test by then.

Yes, they really do hair tests and she will be required to do one as stipulated in her offer.

Well, you'd have to shave every square inch of hair off your body for that to work.

Dunno... Do one of those crazy washing regimens and hope for the best?

Dispute any result and hope for a later retest?

Invent an ill foreign relative and you are really sorry, but you are going to have to delay your start date because you will be in Bulgaria?

Delay the test if possible, if not pass on the job . Life lesson learned.

What employer is doing a hair drug test?

I'm not willing to disclose that. But it is pretty common with engineering firms. My Dad, sister and oldest brother have all had to do hair tests as a condition of employment for different engineering firms.

I guess it depends what type of engineering? If they did it to any firm with employee classes like "surveyor" it would be tough to make hires.

Agreed, but my guess is that he is talking civil engineering firms that do DOT work or something. Most places in electrical (other than power plants) and computer don't even really drug test at all.

No, not civil. DOT doesn't require hair tests, anyway...only 5-panel urinalysis.
