So I just learned how much tattoos cost. Next time some dickhead with a sleeve mocks the great expense of my wardrobe I am going to tell them to go straight to hell.

How much for a full sleeve?

It varies a lot. Top artists charge around $200 / hr and a sleeve can take upwards of 6 hours to complete. And these figures are on the lower end of the high end, if that makes sense.

Now, if you wanted to get a full sleebe, that would be... bout $350 according to my calculations.

Up to six hours? Nah, you're looking at 15 minimum for something decent and probably upwards of 30 for something really well done.

Brah, stop blowing up my spot as an armchair artiste.

But yeah, you're right. I was wrong on two counts: was thinking of one of my coworker's half sleeve tattoos and it's not an extremely intricate one. He said that was about 6 hours of work.

Good grief, GF. Stop being that kid who wants everybody to think he knows about everything.

I have tattoos that were drawn on to my body approximately half a lifetime ago. They are not especially good tattoos. In one case the tattoo artist said "I can tell that you're Irish because your skin is very bad for tattooing which is how the skin of Irishs is." (As many of you know, I am not Irish don't even have a single drop of Irish blood or a single helix of Irish DNA.) If I had to do it all over again I probably wouldn't get them, but still when I have romantic partners they are usually like "Oh those are kind of adorbs tattoos if you process your thinking about them through a certain kind of mental filter so to speak."

Was on the phone with T-Mobile to talk about their special promotion where you can get an iPhone 7+ for effectively $200 or so if you trade in an iPhone 6. That's right -- they're assigning a trade-in value of $600+ for an old iPhone 6. I have one collecting dust in my drawer so I thought why the hell not.

The promotion itself is pretty legit and I'm debating doing it. But the reason for this poast? The rep tried to get me to switch to their new T-Mobile One plan -- it has unlimited everything, including mobile hotspot, for $75. And if you enroll in Auto-Pay like I do, they knock off $5.

I'm currently on their Simple Choice plan that they launched two-ish years ago just when they started getting really aggressive with their Uncarrier initiatives. I pay $50 for unlimited data and $20 for unlimited talk and text. So, $70 and the same price as above.

I was soo close to switching over just so I could get that sweet, sweet unlimited hotspot (even though I can count on one hand the number of times I've used it in the past two years), but my gut feel told me I should hold on and do some more research.

Turns out I made the right call, cause the T-Mobile One plan has so many stipulations, the worst being that unlimited data is only unlimited if you limit streaming video to 480p. Fuck that. If you want unlimited HD streaming, which I get today with my Simple Choice plan, you have to pay $3 for an HD Day Pass.

Ugh. So deceptive! I knew it sounded too good to be true.

Edit: I should add that the plan I have now has been discontinued and I'm grandfathered in.

Top artists in NYC are more like $4-500 an hour apparently.

So the girl I was hoping forgot about me when she went on vacation didn't and now I have to see her today for coffee. She's an alleged coffee nut so I am prepared for a good argument. Kind of don't feel like hanging with her though.
