Ha, earlier today a colleague sent me this and half-jokingly suggested including it in "How Not To Get Us Sued, You Dummies"-type trainings:

UPS misses me yesterday so I check the tracking this morning: On the vehicle for delivery. Awesome, I'll be around today.

Here I am thinking where the fuck is my package. Check the tracking: Delivered to UPS Access Point.

The sad part is that she has a couple of kids who are pretty young (as young as 3 or 4) but the good part is that her husband is kind of an alcoholic narcissist and sociopath. So hopefully she'll be okay and the kids will be okay. It's weird for us because her husband is one of those guys who is always on his best behavior around everyone else so this was a bit unexpected. Now that I've learned the other side of the story, though, it sounds like this will be best for everyone.

Hold the phone. I'm getting divorced??

All srs tho: better to bail on a shite sitch than continue loping through year after year. Ain't no reincarnation for dat level reload.

No, nurses writing in charts can't violate HIPPA. They say stupid shit in a catty fashion about other nurses, family members, even the patients and doctors. They tend to be very accusatory and immature and this does not play well with juries. I mean the fact you told the demented patient not to get out of bed, left him alone, and then he tried to get up, fell on his head, and sustained a subdural hematoma is not going to stop anyone from getting sued. The fact you think something bad happened as the nurse on the last shift didn't give meds, or change a dressing, or something is not going to stop anyone from getting sued and might not even be what really happened. That sort of shit.

The basic rules of charting for nurses is to state factual observations. Period. That's all. End of story. Don't make medical diagnosis, don't talk about what the daughter said, what the nurse on last shift may or may not have done...just state observable facts of the moment.

The editor was like "When I accepted your prospectus I kind of assumed that Gavin would be creckeltous in some more metaphorical sense cuz that's how literature works you know. You made him be literally like a creckelt chirp in response to varied life phenomena." I was like "That is what makes him creckeltous you dumb-ass! If I wanted Gavin to say words in life situations I would of called the novella The Man What Talks In Situations. Who the hell would want to read that?"

What sort of person thinks they got the qualifications to edit a cunning linguist like yourself? Prolly got dat hubris in their mente.

Why do they write shit like that on the charts? Is it just the nurses you work with or is this a generalized trend across the industry?

Not trying to be prejeldice but here's something I believe about furniture stores when they are trying to make dat sale they are "eager beaverds" so to speak but when it comes to getting the merchandise in to your possession they turn quickly to lackadaisical condition of mente.

She keeps texting trying to hang and is being aggressive as far as her interest in you, but you're just not feeling it. This situation (which occurred once way back) puts a lot of stress on me. I am stressed out enough just being alive and having to have a conversation about your feelings about the future of the relationship a date or two in is utterly daunting to me. Frankly, I'd rather go to the dentist. Are you supposed to have these conversations so early, or can you just be busy and let it fizzle out? Am I just being a coward?
So I haven't seen this above girl in a few months, but we got on the same train car this morning and had to take the whole commute talking awkwardly. It was awful.
