Its funny that weve assigned genders to inert concepts like color at all. Its a symptom of modern times to insist on reducing the visceral to the textual. I think by and large people have lost touch with they sensory organs, try to feel with they brains in a manner of speaking. Damned shame since it forecloses dat body logic.

One guy told me to dress my son (I don't have one) in pink for school, as it would change my mind. He looked at me like he had just got a stroke, when I said I wore pink to school, why wouldn't I dress my kid in it to?

I'm a rather big fan of pink myself, and I've never really had any sort of non-manly association with it.
I think I got it from my dad. He was a big fan, as well, and, though I have many negative things to say about him, I have to admit that in his prime he was one of the baddest asses I've ever met. (When he sees me wearing pink, he likes to tell me the story about the time his professional wrestler friend told him to wear his pink shirt to a court date - for beating the shit out of some guy - because it might make him appear a little softer and more sympathetic.)
