I can still read SF and Kindle books on my  iPhone without reading glasses .  I use reading glasses if I'm reading more than a few minuets though. I wore cheaters (magnifiers) in my welding hood  since I was in my early 40s but that required  a level of vision far out  of the norm especially the critical work that the  semiconductor industry wanted

You know that if you now have good close vision and you correct both eyes for nearsightedness you will likely need reading glasses

I worked in a dust and smoke filled atmosphere .Contacts were out of the question . I was constantly taking my glasses off and on for close work . Bifocals worked ok for most close stuff but not welding. It was a godsend for me

Got my 401k statement. Regrettably it has not performed well enough to allow me to retire by 35... yet

Not trying to start concherversy here, but I don't like it when people say "insurance" with the accent on the first sellable. It should be on the second. Also when people put the accent on the first sellable of "buffet."

But now for a point of contrast I don't like when people put equal accent on the first and second sellables of "theater." Should just go on the first.

Fireworks every night this week at around 9pm, where I'm out walking my dog. I don't know what kind of holiday people are celebrating, but I want to kick them in the face.

Nah, it was a 5 minute long battery thing. It was the same shit last night and my dog almost ran home across a busy street.
