I have started a startup called Chili Box. It is a subscription-based service on the model of Birch Box except instead of sending birches I send three items each month: a piping hot chili, an article of "new old stock" lingerie (I don't say it is old stock, but it is), and a Fanta. Why am I posting this in the Pissed Thread? I should be happy about my startup, right? Guess again. The Post Office has told me in no uncertain terms that I must cease and desist immediately. They're not even trying to hide their intentions, they are trying to "clear the market" and take over my idea as if they were the ones who invented it. No credit or compensation will be given to Chili Box at all. Sometimes I feel like I'm living in an Authoritarian Country rather than a land of freedom.

If only there was some other service that could ship your goods (or parcels).  Perhaps with a massive fleet of trucks and/or planes.  Maybe they could call such a service Federal Parcel Service or United Express.

I live in The Country. Businesses of the sort you describe in your message above do not deign to serve communities of the sort in which I live. Only the City Man benefits from their deeds, alas.

Maybe it's not the USPS that stands against you. The Republic of Chile might be claiming trademark infringement against their Chile Box

The woman to whom I was once engaged, and with whom I have maintained a good friendship, has suffered a massive heart attack. Prognosis is very, very bad. This feels like a kick to the gut. (I know you probably wouldn't anyway, but if you are my friend on Facebook, please don't mention this. I think there are still people who don't know.)

I received this news three minutes before I had to go teach a class today. It was very hard for me to hold it together, but I did.

im pretty sure someone stole a tire from my car.

i bought four tires a earlier this year and i started getting a low-tire-pressure warning and decreased gas mileage a few weeks ago. Swing into the Bridgestone shop I bought the tires at and there's a nail in one but... it is not an Ecopia tire--it's a line they don't even sell. I hadn't brought the car to any other shop and I checked when I bought them that they were all Ecopias so I don't know what else could have happened.

Either way, they only charged me $17 to cover warranty for a new tire so not that bad.
