No, the weird thing is people using cheques any time after 1980.
my check wasn't accepted (*because its a starter check) by the Monroe County Clerk of Court for the $456 traffic ticket I got in December
and I can't pay online because its been more than 30 days since the citation. I did try to pay but the ******* online payment kept on being rejected by two different credit cards (and I ended up getting called by my two credit card companies when both were charged over $2,000 each anyway). thats when I decided just to send a check.
*I know its kind of weird not having printed up personalized checks, but my wife and I centralized our bank accounts two years ago, and I've only had to write about 5 checks in the last 2 years. Everything else is paid by direct debit/auto payment. I never got around to have new checks printed up because the starter book was still full and I figured it was a waste not to use them. I even used one of them to buy a ******* car, but apparently its not good enough for a clerk of court in florida.
