(Not that I care, I haven't eaten at mcdonalds in probably 10 years)

Apparently it was also a big deal because McD's was trying to expand in India.

The handle of my old umbrella shot high into the air as I waited on line at the bank. Everyone stared.

I'm not too happy about the goings-on to where Dweezil isn't even allowed to use the "Zappa Plays Zappa" name because the other falmly members want to charge exorbeldent fee. It's like "C'mon guys!"

So I know I have complained about the hipsterization of my neighborhood here before, but up until now it's mostly been the benign type of hipster—the pourover coffee drinking, bike racing, artisan pastry eating, home brewing, waxed mustached type. Well today I am legitimately scared since I saw some real serious hipsters. She was dressed like Blossom and was wearing a sleeveless shirt in 50-degree weather. He looked Amish from the neck up, and had a raccoon tail hanging out of his back pocket. I did some research and apparently this was a thing -- in 2011. This tells me we're getting the hipster rejects from New York and Chicago.

Jeffrey Steingarten wrote a really long article (like, absurdly long.... it may have been his longest Vanity Fair article) about french fries. It was in his first book and I remember after like 17 pages of it going "I wonder how much more there is?" About 30 pages. I went to the next essay.

On a much different note, a friend of mine I hung out with a lot my first two years of college killed himself over the weekend. I knew he had really awful depression as long as I'd known him but I don't what caused it. He was a bit older than me and well loved by all his many friends.
