Personally I call them "phosphates."

Step 1) Get a job at a great college where the kids are smart and more tolerable
Step 2) Be on sabbatical

4) Interact with people like GreenFrog online so you're reminded of just how tolerable and smart your students are

My experience as a smart kid* is that these do not necessarily go together.

(* Check out that humble brag. This is the millennial in me, bragging about how once upon a time, back in the day, I was smart and supposed to do great things. Now I just eat Cheez-Its, drink beer, watch Netflix/Amazon/HBO Go on my parents and in-laws accounts, and live vicariously through my pets.)

^ You're right. But I can tolerate a great many things before I can tolerate stupidity

I feel like I was one of those decent-but-not-spectacular students who all the undergrad professors are surprised went on to get a PhD and land a research job. Hurray for getting your shit together in grad school?

It's interesting going back to my alma mater. Totally different interaction, just straight up accepted as a peer. Weird realizing that you know more about some things than the people who taught you the basics.

I don't even think I have a son I think I was hoodwinked. I wonder if someone here at SF put the mother up to it just to create drama.

That would make things easier, however I loathe this area and will be leaving in two years. I don't want to own a house unless I plan to live somewhere for awhile.

A few weeks ago one of my tires went flat. I get back in the states and the one that had needed to be replaced finally went flat. So I dropped it off and the other two were essentially worn out, too.

I know how much each tire+alignment+an oil change cost and I was able to get all for a decent-ish price. Still not how I wanted to spend $500 but I can afford it now and they all needed to be done so why not, I suppose.

Two weeks ago someone wanted to schedule a business lunch for today and I never heard back from him. Today, at 6:30 this morning, he texted me to see if "we're still on" for 2pm across town. I told him we were never "on" for that. He texted back we set it up two weeks ago. I sent back to him his email from two weeks ago showing he asked for a lunch and would get back to me on details. His reply was, "Well, now I'm getting back to you with the details." I told quite literally told him he's a fucking idiot and we'll have to reschedule with a real appointment. He then got mad as apparently he's bringing someone to create a deal over something with me. I told him again he's a fucking idiot and have not heard back from him.

Q: Who the hell does that?

A: A fucking idiot.
