I went to Whole foods and saw some pretty tasty looking marinated steak tips. They were listed for $15.99 / lb. Overpriced as hell, but I was willing to splurge.

Not sure how much a pound would look like, I asked the meat man for four pieces, hoping it'd come out to roughly half a pound. Sure enough, the entire container was filled to the brim and came out to .96 lbs.

I pulled a gomestar and accepted my fate.

These better be the best damned steak tips I've ever had.

at least we now know that it takes a full pound of meat to fill your "container".

How can you talk into Whole Foods and be surprised at the prices? Abandon frugality, all ye who enter here.

Beliebe it or not, there are some deals to be had at Whole Foods. The company has been trying to offer more affordable offerings as a part of a broader turnaround strategy over the past year or so -- their stock has been in the gutter since early 2015.

As an example, a gallon of their cheapest whole milk is $3.49. At another grocelry store, the cheapest gallon of milk is $4.99.

They still pillage you at the deli and meats section, though.

Sometimes my "foodie" friends try to belittle me for enjoying raspberry flavored peaches (Del Monte) hey you know what I betcha they've never even tried said peaches just want to deem them as low culture food without scientific evidence.

When they belittle you just tell them you're a fan of the "canned foodie" movement and let them know that they're behind the times for not knowing that. Then let them know you're also a fast foodie and a freeze-dried foodie.

Guy with the Ukelele is at it again! I also want to know why he has an NYPD sawhorse on his balcony.
