Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW! - Page 5398

I had some cable tech repeatedly tell me that the signal levels were fine, and that there must be a "local outage". It went on for a couple days, until I ran into one of their field techs and got him to check the apartment junction box. Some other field tech had actually unplugged my connection instead of one of the neighbors.

The shitbag phone techs just lied to me so they wouldn't have to spend ten seconds actually testing the connection.

Saturday Night Live had a skit where they was the local news in Fond du Lac, WI. It was an okay skit but I gotta tell you the truth they didn't do a real good job with the accents at all. (I grew up not too far from Fond du Lac aka "Fondy.")

Scott Walker's actions wouldn't impact anyone like that.  Look at the highest paid government employee and it is almost always a football or basketball coach.  A couple states it is like a medical school dean.

Bitch wants to blame my modem (because I own one and don't rent some comcast shit). Won't accept my reports that the log files on the modem show clear connection issues. They can't support those modems because they know nothing about them, if a tech comes out they could charge me $50 because it's not with their stuff, etc. Says I have to call the modem manufacturer.

Says the signals look fine on her end. I ask her to tell me the signal levels (which is something real techs can tell you and would be necessary if the modem needed troubleshooting) and she is like "I don't have numbers to give you, it just says they are good". I ask if she can connect me to someone else who can give me those numbers and she is like "No one else could because that's all it shows". I say I have spoken to comcast and gotten this info before and she finally goes away to get a senior support person.

Senior support person still provides some idiot-level support (go unplug your router, even though I know that's not the problem, etc). But then she is all like "Just to confirm, you have an XYZ modem? Ok, let me pull up some info and see if it can tell me anything". Doesn't tell me I am crazy when I say the log file messages appear to be connection related, understands that intermittent problems by definition mean that while my service is working fine now after a reset, that it will eventually go bad.

Schedules me a monday morning support visit. Doesn't once mention the possibility of a $50 fee.

How can I call and talk to that person first?

Comcast came out once for us because we had some problems.  They checked everything couldn't find anything wrong.  Finally, they conclude the modem had been configured wrong when I called in to activate it.  They charged me like $50 or $65 or something like that.  Such a joke.

I am slightly concerned because while the issue happened again last night (after I called them)...it hasn't occurred again today.

If the problem is something like noise on the line, then I doubt the guy is going to find anything unless he is lucky enough to come right when there is a problem.

Although, undoing some pissing me off news from earlier...

I managed to find a ski jacket that I think will work. The patagonia that was sold out everywhere in non-black mediums showed up on Steep and Cheap. Reasonable price...hopefully it fits right and actually works for me in the right weather, but it looked good in the store.

In the Sierras a Goretex-Pro shell is the way to go. Totally bomber and waterproof I've got an Arcteryx with about 200 days on it still looks brand new. With a shell you just under layer up or down depending on the day. We ride storms 90% of our days so I know of what I speak

Cut up a habanero pepper for a soup. I've accidently touched my eye and a few parts of my face since, even after washing my hands and it burns like hell.

Be grateful you didn't go pee.

I've done that enough times that I finally just gave in and started wearing disposable gloves to cut chiles.

When it's really long it can wobble a bit and splash. I understand when it's small it doesn't have that much room for movement, so ymmv

Of course the topic is ripe for jokes, but seriously.

I'm trying to picture being able to piss in that fashion and drawing a blank.

Has me hibbeldy...asshole nearly rearended me (no GF) this morning as he was fucking texting. It was pretty damn close and then he gave me the finger. I turned in a block up, to the strip mall with my Sbx, and so did he. I thought he was going to confront me, so I was working myself up to go ballistic, but he drove on by me giving me the finger again. What a brave man.
