Barring that: it sucks, but I guess you can console yourself with knowing that at least you tried to reach out to him and he just ignored you.

Well the good news is that it wasn't so much he ignore me as it is he is a terrible employee. (Like he didn't respond because I asked him to, he probably just can't stay on top of email/read).

Mostly just people asking why I did it, like I need a reason. Or attributing it to the death of a relative who had a clean shaven head. (I just buzzed mine with a #1.) Acting like it's a permanent life change. (It might be, but chopping 3" of hair ain't the same as chopping off 12" of hair.) Or, the worst, trying to be funny.

The real reason is that I'm too freaking lazy to get my hair cut as often as I need to. I don't like styling it, and I don't like the way it looks if I don't style it.

Also I'm cheap and will enjoy the cost savings from not having to pay for haircuts and reduced shampoo consumption.

My inlaws share everything on FB.  We send them a picture - they post it on FB, etc.  If we ever have kids, I'm going to have to be Ron Swanson about it.

I'm planning a party at my house for my 30th and the more people I invite the more I realize my friends' age range goes up a bit and so many of my friends now have little ones. I'm trying to decide if I have kid space or not. On the one hand having so likely increases the attendance but having babies probably means there will be an earlier filtering of some folks.

i had a date set for last night and they bailed last minute.

which doesn't really bother so much as the super-involved, way-too-personal-for-my-comfort excuse narrative. things happen there's no real reason to delve into the nitty gritty of why. i think most people find satisfaction in hearing excuses (or reasons, as they are sometimes known) but i don't. just respect me enough not to bullshit me and i'll respect you enough not to assume you're full of shit, even if you give me bad news.

this is like a second impression type thing and now i've got rabbit ears. boo.

downloaded salary reports from our HR system and the fucking thing exports the data as TEXT. Why the fuck would you want to store numbers as text??! Has no one in HR done math, ever??

No, they haven't.  Like lawyers, they can't maths.  It should be super easy to convert text to numbers in Excel though.

Have they saved numbers as three hundred and five instead of 305?

Also HR people are idiots.

I always thought HRoi was in HR on account of his name "the king of HR." (If you don't know, king in French is "roi.")

Worse. The data was in digits but there were stupid notes in the same damn fields. For example, some of the entries were "$100,000 per year" what the fuck

If you go home and relax...maybe go out a little later and eat a booze free or one drink dinner. Then you will be tired. You'll be full and not very thirsty, so even if you go to a lively bar, you'll drink one beer slowly and just feel extra full and tired. Certain levels of excitement/shots/caffeine/etc might break you out of this...but that time to calm down after work really is a killer.

My best Fridays now are:

Get up at 5'ish and work.
Leave around 1pm
Go home and work out hard
Shower
Head out to eat and drink.

For the first (and probably last) time in my life a woman approached me. We didn't click and she wasn't my type so it pissed me off that it wasn't fruitful (I was waiting for my family so....) but mainly that when I sat down in realized what had happened and I couldn't enjoy the moment.

Get emails and calls for a situation that requires my presence
Head back to office in tears as my friends stuff their faces with dat foie

Fix'd.
