I hear you on that.

Mouse, sorry to hear about the accident. Glad you're alright.

May I interest you in my gently used Bugatti Chiron? It only has 350 moles.

Probably not the right thread for it, but I find it interesting how cars are designed these days. Crumple zones, etc. All geared towards saving lived, but not the vehicle itself. Human life is certainly the most important thing, but in some ways it makes cars feel disposable. I've had two wrecks like this in my life, this being the 2nd. They couldn't repair the first one and it's doubtful they will be able to repair this one.

Not sure I want to be in a car that doesn't deform at all during a crash. That usually means the occupant absorb much of the impact.

Watching crash videos of the old solid body cars is scary. The passengers just get mauled in higher speed crashes, where they barely get touched in modern cars.

Have you seen the 1960s Malibu vs 2010s Malibu video?

Problem with unibody design is low speed fender benders can damage the structural frame and $ to repair. But better road grip, safer, better mileage, etc.

But yeah almost seems single use, like a bike helmet...

I was pretty shocked to realize that teslas are actually body-on-frame, like a truck.

I feel safe in my hyper and mega cars because they eschew traditional aluminum and steel frames. Rather, they leverage state of the art advancements in carbon fiber technology. In other words, dat CF monocoque.

"Insert just the tip soak"

Always nice that cabdrivers returns lost stuff, I know a couple people who have been lucky sending a message to their phones via findmyphone.

Of course. I told him to star the meter from wherever he is and gave him some extra when he got here.

Yeah, this took a while because it's on vibrate so I had to keep making it ring from FMI and when he found it he called the phone I had been calling it from.

I got a speeding ticket yesterday after me and my coworker had just switched for lunch. Going to be about $800 if what I've read is true. Which I just don't have. When I got my DUI I had a lawyer who dealt with one specific court case afterward that was about an hour of work and he didn't charge $800 so if it turns out that's how much my ticket will cost I will call him and determine if I should gamble or not.
