Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW! - Page 5382

Yeah, I got H&R Block Deluxe for like $11 last year. Not bad software at all, had some nice things for people who actually know what they are doing and want to see the actual IRS forms, although the overall experience was less than TurboTax.

I don't think it knew what to do with my K-1s from an MLP though...luckily I didn't actually sell any shares, so everything just carries over to the next year...

Not quite at accountant territory yet. for 2015, I'll owe some capital gains, but nothing fancy. Next year, I will have a lot of tax losses to worry about (will probably have to carry some over to 2017), but even then, I don't think I have enough tax options to bother paying a few hundred bucks for a professional.

I have a cheap accountant mainly for the advice. I do most of the work, she plugs in the numbers. I don't make much money, but my taxes are stupid complicated. Between my wife and I, we had 10+ W2s from 4-5 different states, plus a Schedule C each. (Yay freelancing!)

Also, I don't know if it's true or not, but I like having that "professional preparer" line filled out in the hopes that the IRS's audit formula takes that into consideration (not that I make enough to have a high audit risk...).

Yeah, it's the advice I really value. That, and if (well when) I get an audit I've a pro that knows my tax history.

If someone is auditing me, all the way at the bottom of the totem pole, then we already have bigger problems.

Last year I missed the "wink wink" with my accountant. Basically she said, "this is how you should do it, but I'll put down whatever numbers you give me." Getting paid both as an employee and an independent contractor for the same type of work makes it a huge pain to split expenses between Schedules A & C. Obviously it's advantageous to put as much on Schedule C as possible since those are above the line.

Here are two related things I don't like:

1. Cashew milk (don't got a good taste to it sorry that's just a fact).

2. The pronunciation of cashew to where the accent goes on the second sellable (hate to stereotype but I find that southerners do this).

Suffering from a monumental cold or flu. Fever, stuffy nose, chills (thermostat is at 80 degrees), and I have to sit in on a conference call in 8 minutes. ALSO, it's pouring rain out here so I can't (really won't) go to the local CVS to get more meds. PLUS, I was supposed to go to NYC tomorrow and I'm not sure I will recover enough to make the trip. Which means another day working from home bleh

Got stood up on a date.

Actually not upset. Wasn't feeling it tonight so I'd probably have bombed and I expected it.

What IS bothering me is that these drinks are getting me nowhere

Phailing at getting drunk alone after getting stood up for a date where you would have crashed and burned anyway is kind of impressive.

It should be illegal for airlines to advertise a fare as (e.g.) $300 when all that's left are premium seats that are $25 extra for each leg. Assuming one layover each way, that itinerary is now 33% more expensive.

From ... One flight on Wednesday at noon, every other flight is x 2.

It's annoying as fuck.

I thought middle of the week was your thing.  Maybe you should stick to those hot blondes on Saturday nights.
