Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW! - Page 5362

that's my beef with rachel maddow, only she does the same thing verbally. i don't mind her opinions whatsoever, but the presentation is insulting and unwatchable

done right a non-objective approach to journalism/opinion can expose "deeper" albeit arguable conclusions: i highly suggest reading The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe. he dispenses with objectivity at the very outset of his narrative but makes a strong case for what i can only call "honest subjectivity"

the flip side of this is Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, which is a gripping read but a really sorry exercise in journalism as self-flagellation

The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test is a great book.

I'd love to partake in an all you can eat king crab and stone crab leg feast...

I still remember going HAM on Joe's stone crab in Miami with my brahs. The bill sucked.

We had reservations for eight at a nice local restaurant tonight. They just called my friend who made the reservations to let us know that they would only be serving a special Valentine's prix fixe menu. That was cool with me, since I like those kinds of things, but some of the people in our group backed out immediately (picky eaters, more budget conscious). After a laughable few calls to other restaurants (all totally booked, of course), we're going to be having ribs at a friend's house tonight. It should still be fun, but I was looking forward to a nice dinner out tonight. Oh well.

Repeat rant: these fucking car unlocking systems where you're supposed to never need to pull out the key. They never work reliably. So there you are poking at the fucking door handle like a retard and finally have to give up and find the key on your fucking person.

And now these god damn things are standard on many cars...id pay extra to remove them. The problem too is that I keep getting sucked into their trap and leaving the key in my briefcase...instead of doing the smart thing and just pretending they don't exist and using the fob 100% of the time

Semi-related, but I hate modern cars and the push-to-start ignition systems.

No, I don't want to have to press the brake pedal and push some button to start the car. It's so unsatisfying.

Nothing will replace dat satisfaction of turning your key to crank the ignition.
