It's funny though, everybody loves to hate on the Boomers, but it seems like nobody is realizing that half the Millennials are the children of Gen X'ers. Gen X, ignored again.

Yeah, agree it's a little fuzzy. I'm an older Gen X, and being able to clearly remember part of the 70s and all of the 80s gives me a vastly different experience than someone born in 1982.

And yeah, Gen X ignored again. I think that's going to accelerate the "get off my lawn" as we really were pretty much left to raise ourselves (the latchkey generation) vs. the helicopter parent generation. I always figured the helicopter phenomena was a result of so many older Gen X folks having completely disinterested Boomer parents.

Has there ever been any valuable insight gained from studying these made up bullshit things called generations? They can't even come up with a consensus on when they begin and end.

The splits in the Millennial generation have a large amount to do with parenting culture (and partially the Gen X/late Boomer split I suspect). The helicopter parenting thing was just getting going for kids of the mid-80s, but ramped into an epidemic for today's college kids. I knew those kids growing up, but it sure wasn't my experience. Now you're some kind of freak if you don't live and die by the accomplishments of your kids.

The problem when you start talking about generation of parent that can become even more nebulous.  My wife and I are the same age, but our parents are 10 years apart.

I read a study that said Gen X'ers are 17% more receptive to figging.

Take this for what you will since it was coined by MTV, but the post-Millennials have unofficially been named "The Founders."

Prices at local retailers in Canada now randomly switching to USD for domestic in-store sales. I totally get the reasoning behind this is that with the crappy Dollar most of these retailers, who are forced to buy from US distributors, have seen their margins all but disappear. That said, it is somewhat annoying to log into sites or even go to stores and just see where the prices stayed exactly the same numerically, but now someone has just written in brackets 'USD' on the original price tag, or on web pages now, it's often just '*all prices in USD' at the bottom of the page. I don't care so much about the price increase, but this just seems a bit disingenuous compared to just actually raising your prices to reflect the new (well, recurring I guess) state of things.

I got a Band-Aid on my index finger of right hand on account of cut my finger while preparing my dinner feast last night. It is affecting my ability to type to where I press the wrong key or else I think I press a key but I don't press it.

the easiest way to delineate the different generations is by availability/accessibility of Porn.

I'm in my mid 30's and remember being excited for the fucking sports illustrated swimsuit issue to see hints of nipple at best. Porn was valuable commodity even up to the mid 90's.

My only problem with not making this generation hit 2016 is we all know there's nothing later or greater than the Millennials.

Baby Boomers: firmly believe they changed the world and are the coolest generation ever.

Millennials: firmly believe they changed the world and are the coolest generation ever.

Gen X: told the world would end in nuclear conflagration before they were 30.

I have a huge boner for this girl I met in Cambodia. I Facebook stalked her and it says she was born in 1991. It just hit me how I am gettin' old.

So some of these hippy chicks in Cambodia wear these pents that are really annoying to me. They are very thin, pajama-like material and very loose. They usually have very wacky patterns on them, usually very large scale paisley, or something. They will also wear sandals, hair in a ponytail, tank of top, and look kind of dirty. I don't know why, but it makes me mad. Fuck hippies.

Thai pants? I got so f'ing sick of those -- like Patrick Bateman rage levels of sick -- by the end of traveling in Southeast Asia.

Lol. Or watching 'fuzzies' on the adult cable channels parents wouldn't pay for. I remember a buddy stealing a 'Club' magazine from his dad sometime around grade 5 and bringing to to school to show off -- every time he showed it to someone he treated it like he was selling coldwar secrets to the Soviets.

I never really though about it, but it must be somewhat weird for kids now to basically have unlimited access to porn from whenever age they begin to desire it.
