Maybe I am just being a curmujjen or whatever but it "gets my goat" to keep hearing about how Guns N' Roses are reuniting with their classic lineup you know the original band was not just Axl and Slash and Duff must needs have Adler or hell at least Sorum. Also must needs have Izzy or at least Gilby.

There seems to be multiple accidents, cars running out of gas, and general dumbass-ery (a transplant from San Antonio specifically used this descriptor) every damn day on the major Nashville highways.

Luckily I drive in opposite directions of the majority of commuters, but I feel so bad for the commuters stuck in major traffic caused by such avoidable things.

My guess is the weird speed limits (some stretches are 70mph, then immediately go to 55mph), and the passive aggressive nature of southern drivers (some guys drive like nascar drivers weaving in and out not signaling, others just go 55mph if the speed limit is 70mph or 55mph no matter what). The people running out of gas and getting stuck in the highway by so many drivers here perplexes me though.

I kind of miss the masshole's, NYC, and overall aggressiveness of the northeast drivers because it ends up where everyone is going fast towards the same direction and mimics a school of fish.

I had to get a 40k mile service for my car and wanted to finally try out an independent shop, called around got quotes (always seemed high), finally just called the VW dealerships, and lo and behold the fucking dealerships had the lowest prices?! When notified a independent shop that the dealerships had lower prices they immediately were like: "no problem we'll match them!" and I was hibbeldy-jibbeldy at the audacity and just went to the dealer to get my car serviced.

also went to the DMV to get the new license and registration and had to deal with the demoralizing haberdashery of DMV denizens.

Regional driving culture differences are always interesting. DC area drivers are fairly aggressive, but it's more in a "I'll cut off my nose to spite my face" sort of way. People will go out of their way to cut you off at a merge, even when they have to know that it completely wrecks traffic overall and saves them no time at all.

Having driven in Boston for several years, Dallas for two, NYC a couple times, and now RI, I can confidently assert that Florida has the nation's worst drivers based on my limited experiences there.

Florida may have the worse drivers as a whole, but I like to hypothesize that it's because of the confluence of US transplants, immigrants, and the elderly.

My personal favorite is New Jersey drivers. there's something distinctive about New Jersey drivers, they could be in a huge mini van, rice rocket, rusted out 1991 Corolla, or Ferrari - I noticed how they love weaving from all the way from the right lane to the left lane then back and forth for no real reason but for the sake of being busy on the road. They're the busy body drivers of America.

When driving in from the west or south (where WV, VA, MD, DE, PA,KY,and NJ are clumped) you know you're near New Jersey when there's 5-10 NJ plated cars weaving back and forth across all the lanes.

When you're outside the city in MO (Missouri), you have to be careful not to let anyone detect that you want to use an exit because other drivers will block you. Once I was driving and my passenger cried out "He's trying to get onto pit row block him block him!!" I was like "Huh?" He said "He's trying to get new tires gain advantage block him from pit row!"

Here in MN you get two rage inducing things:

1. Lots of people refuse to move out of the left lane regardless of their speed

2. People merge onto the highway at less than highway speeds.  Often times I'm stuck behind people merging onto the interstate at 20MPH.  This is not only dangerous, but it is the cause of all kinds of traffic jams.

I don't get it because here in the Twin Cities, you have I-94, I-35, and all the various tributaries you would think people would learn how to use them.

I don't know what it is, but I have always felt that people in MN really do have trouble dealing with highways.

I did a 6 month internship in Rochester, MN, and it was funny because it was even worse than the Twin Cities.  They would also always warn me to avoid the Twin Cities because of the "really aggressive drivers."  I grew up in SE WI which was dominated by Chicago drivers, so I was shocked when I drove up to Minneapolis the first time.  I was expecting people driving 80-85 and tailgating and I found essentially Rochester drivers that drove slightly faster.

I forgot year it was, but recently they did a study of US cities with the most traffic fatalities per million residents. Florida had four of the top fifteen including first and second

Straight up man, I'm just a reglar guy born and raised in the rural upper Midwest of Wisconsin where we eat foods what got no spices in them such as hotdish and whatnot. All of this is setup to my main point, which is that I just ate a Chick-Fil-A spicy chicken sandwich if you don't see me posting here no more it is because my vital organs have disintelgrated from spice trauma.
