Probably would of gotten better service if his genital region had been photographed like pB was describing in a earlier post.

Surprise, surprise... I'm hung over. Got back at 5am. Haven't gone that hard in a long time.

I have one more thing that pissed me off to share:

I was told NYE dinner was "super cash." There were 2 people there not wearing jacket and tie: me and the guy who told me it was "super cash." Probably for the best in retrospect because I'd rather have someone spill a drink on my washable super cash trousers than my non-cash trousers. Saves me a trip to the dry cleaner.

Nobody cares about Red Wing Bechmuhns either. Just keeping it real.

I was "super cash" last night as I wore my sports coat I had made with Loro Piana cashmere. I love that jacket as it drapes so well.

Both the cheap boots and the cheap carpet turned out fine.

And thanks to our terrible waiter, the $100 bill I found in my thrifted jacket covered the check for my wife and I, which I didn't expect. 2 drinks for me, 1 for her, no dessert. Plus he left a drink off. I'm sure it was one someone else's check, but at the point we just wanted to get out of there. (He had already screwed up the check split multiple times. This stuff should be easy with modern POS systems. Just enter the orders by seat.) I left a 15% tip (to the penny) for the 2nd time in my life.

Thats why I do go out and havent gone out on nye in quite a while. Id rather spend it with family and a cozy sweater by the fireplace rather than it depending on the service of others. Just my 2 cents.

You showed up with 75% more people than your reservation stated, and then you asked your server to split the check on a 14-top?

I don't know if you've decided on this year's resolution yet, but I suggest you seriously consider adding "stop shitting on people in the service industry" to the list.

The reservation was for 14. We were in a room that was clearly set up for large parties. We weren't even the biggest group there. Wasn't my reservation, but if it was, I would certainly make sure that they could accommodate that big of a group beforehand. This isn't some mom-and-pop operation. This is a restaurant owned by a major restaurateur who owns 10 mostly higher-end restaurants.

The server offered to split the check at the beginning. I know it's a pain in the ass, but if you don't want to do it, don't offer. Like I already said, splitting checks isn't the big deal it used to be. All you have to do is enter the orders into the POS system seat-by-seat. Then all you do is combine seats as necessary when you print the checks. Easy.

I spent years working in the service industry. I have a lot of empathy for people doing that job, but there's a difference between being overwhelmed/understaffed and just plain being bad at your job.

I spent my NYE driving from Wisconsin to St. Louis basically the whole drive is through central Ellanois where they got no good music on the radio dial at all. On one station there was a rap song ♫ I got sleebs on mah shirt sleebs on my shirt cuz I'm rich sleebs on my shirt cuz I'm rich ♫

The drive between Minneapolis and Madison is worse. As a former boss said, they have both kinds of music: country and western.

Why isn't Giordano's not taking online orders today?  The system let me set a pick-up time for today, but then changed it when I went to confirm.  I called, and they told me "we're not taking online orders today but can take the order over the phone."

I just wanted to use my $5 coupon.
