Sorry to hear that. I'm sitting in front of my cozy fireplace and sipping coffee.

It's 70 degrees here. I might literally die if I put a fire on.

High in the 50s today, low in the 20s. I have a few windows open so the house is a nice 64 degrees with the fireplace running. Good news is I've moved on from coffee to Bloody Caesars. smile.gif

Hey so... I know I posted this last year... But has anybody else ever had the experience of being around someone who literally can't shut up? Someone who is constantly taking, whether it be to other people (doesn't matter if they're listening), to pets, or to herself? "Hey we were just sitting here listening to music before you got here... So maybe let's not talk." Think that silence lasted about 5 seconds before she started making kissy noises at the dogs and then maybe 15 seconds until she starting talking again.

(In case you haven't guessed, I'm talking about my wife. Love you bae <3 <3 <3!!!)

My rep is bigger than either of you with triple the post count

Oh god. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy

(What's the difference between rep received and rep? Shouldn't they be the same?)

As of late I don't care about anything in life cep for watching episodes of McCloud now there was a man who could solve a mystery.

You know what they say, the higher the rep count, the smaller the penis 😁

Both my mother and her husband have diabetes. My mother's husband had part of his leg amputated about ten years ago. My mother is constantly suffering from lots of very painful symptoms. And both do almost nothing to manage their diabetes. I can't even begin to understand that mindset. They just suffer and suffer and suffer, yet it doesn't occur to them that they have some agency. It drives me nuts.

Sadly I've seen this too many times. Toss in morbid obesity and a pack a day habit and I've seen it quite a bit. I think people somehow begin to enjoy the role of patient and having a focus placed on them they are not getting in life otherwise.

Once during internship I assisted in an above knee amputation of a diabetic patient and the whole operating team just came in from a huge birthday bash lunch held at a high class buffet. We were all engorged and had to amputate a gangrenous foot + lower leg.

I have an iron stomach but the others, residents, attendings, interns, nurses, clerks were retching and eventually vomiting into their surgical masks. The OR nurse, bless her genius soul, had the foresight to have many extra surgical gowns, gloves, ect on hand every time some one upchucked. It was like a ballet... One would retch then puke, tag out, clean up, scrub back in, then tag back in.
