Fucking Verizon. I signed up for FIOS when I first moved into my new apartment and bought my own FIOS router so I wouldn't have to rent one and pay a rental fee. I made sure to tell this to the rep when signing up and he assured me I would not get charged for a rental. In fact, the only reason why I was speaking to a phone rep was BECAUSE I wasn't renting a router. Turns out you can't sign up for FIOS online if you aren't renting a router and they require you call in for such a setup.
Anyway, a month ago, I checked my bill and noticed that the fuckers were charging me for the rental since inception. I called and told them about this. They said they were sorry and would credit me the charges, as well as make sure it wouldn't happen again.
Fast forward to latest bill and they continue to charge me for it. Not only that, they never refunded me for the prior charges. And the kicker? They charged me a $99 fee for failing to return a router rental that I never had in the first fucking place.
Of course I'm now playing phone tag with multiple reps and keep getting transferred around. Have been on the phone for an hour already and had to restart the process because in the middle of one of the transfers, they disconnected me.
I'm past the point of being mad. I'm just sitting here dumbfounded that a corporation could be so incompetent.
