I learned recently that there used to be a thing where people ate cheese with apple pie. For the first time in my life I was ashamed of the Northeast.

We had some friends in Utah that used to pour honey all over pumpkin pie. It was pretty tasty, actually, but it's pretty hard to go wrong with pouring honey on something.

Haven't we been over the lack of panache found in inserting unneeded French vocabulary into English? You mean bacon and egg pie.

When I was a youngster we had rhubarb be grow up out of the earth of the back yard to where we cultivated it and transformed it into pies.

Rhubarb pie is something my mother used to make. Both just rhubarb and rhubarb and wild strawberry. Main reason was rhubarb grew like weeds and it was free. We grew quite a bit of our own stuff when I was a kid as we were so poor.
