WTF is frozen pizza?

Ok. Are the "artisans" and "foodies" trying to fuck up pizza now, too? After ruining coffee, sandwiches and countless other normal things?

I never got frozen pizza. "Hi yes I'd like to spend half as much for 1/10 the deliciousness, thanks."

Stoner college kids or food stamps etc sure but basically just look under the couch for that extra $ to get deliv.

Y'all picky as fuck. Pizza Hut has all your needs covered.

Well, a couple of things.

First, delivery. I'm sure everyone here has had a fucked up, as in obviously tossed around, or ice cold pizza delivered. Then you're fucked, as you waited until you're almost ready to eat something else, it shows up, and what do you do? Refuse messed up pizza and starve or take messed up pizza? So delivery can be subject to long wait times and/or a messed up pizza.

Second, how you cook it yourself. Whether I pick my wood pellet grill or a 500 degree pizza stone I'm going to probably cook a tastier pizza if they're just using standard pizza ovens. I'll get nice smokey flavour, I'll get a crispy and chewy crust. It also won't be compromised by the above point.

Third, add things on. Got some kick ass anchovies? How about some awesome herbs or charcuterie? You can take a nice unbaked pizza and make it something spectacular.

Lastly, timing. If you both get home at different times delivery can be dodge again and store baked pizza can be subject to sitting around waiting for the other person.

There's a lot to be said for it.

I am fortunate to live 4.5 blocks from one of the best brick oven pizza spots/restaurant in NY. No delivery but that's ok. I don;t have to deal with any frozen pizza bullshit.
And there is a Domino's on the corner and also a neighborhood pizza place right across the street.

I agree with all that and so can see the appeal of take-away pizza dough for a game-time decision or whatever. But it's not like making pizza dough that's better than any store-bought is going to be (especially since you can tweak and customize according to your own conception of "best") is difficult, and it keeps well in the refrigerator/freezer.

Everytime you write Imo's, I read Ian's because that is a famous place in Madison for their wacky pizza flavors.

If you're talking Madison pizza you're talking Glass Nickel that's my opinion anyways.

All you newbs saying Pizza Hut/dominos and any other cardboard chain need to go live under a rock. There is no big national chain worth gettin pizza from

My bit was slamming frozen pizza only, not homemade.

Though now that I think of it Red Baron frozen pizza is pretty good...no waiting....throw it in the oven......Superbowl you're waiting 2hrs+.....ok I retract my prior post. Hahahaha

Dominos hits the spot when nothing else is available. Pizza Hut crust is a little too chewy and soaked in fat. I also don't like pizza sauces that are way sweet. But I wouldn't call them cardboard. Pizza is pizza - just varying levels of deliciousness that all deserve to be eaten

Edited:

Not sure if you're saying might as well make your own...

This is for a busy work night and I get a nice salad made for me too so I don't end up like Booth or Frog.

I was saying that, although I thought your post was talking about using your own toppings, etc. On re-reading I get that you're basically just suggesting that as an optional addition.

And GF aside, we really don't talk about your bowels all that much.
