Oftentimes when my mente is at work (of thinking) I fidget with a staple remover. But every once in a while I lose the proper grip to where one of the sharp edges meets the surface of my skin, causing a sensation of pain. (Happened just now.)
I wrote a long betrunken reply but my phone quit on me. The articles were a huffington repost (which is part of their business model). One of the idiots was a Merriam Webster editor. They all lay out a solid argument why irregardless is a word unlike nah'meen (he uses the made up word flirgle).
