Dude's an athlete. Of course he's going to wear athletic socks.

When I type letters into the search bar of my computer screen, the computer program predicts what I mean and fills out the rest of the letters. But sometimes I get cocky and type out letters even after the program has correctly predicted what I want. Problem is, I sometimes accidentally type the wrong letter to where the predicted text disappears and I lose the advantage that the computer program provides.

it's that good because it remembers what you usually search for. Like when you type in 'dead people' it knows where you're going and helpfully fills in 'porn' as the third word

I dunno why but I'm not particularly excited about this job offer I got. Currently going through comp. negotiations right now and they're firm on base salary, which, to be fair, is quite a bit higher than national average for this position to begin with. They're willing to give me a signing bonus to meet me in the middle of what I originally asked for, however.

But beyond the whole compensation part, I'm just not super giddy. The position itself is what I want, career-wise, but it's for a very large corporation. So I know for a fact that things will take so much longer at this company, which is a death knell for the type of work I'd be managing. There's a reason why every company ever is now jerking off to the Agile method. This company I got an offer from works under the Waterfall model.

Also, the location: RI. I'm scared to leave a major city like Boston. I don't know what my social life in Providence would look like.

My gut has me torn 50/50 on this. What are some of the things I should be thinking about?

Is it better than being unemployed?

Well, I'm not strapped for cash, really, so I'm super picky about the role and company I want.

It does feel fucking weird to not be working, though.

Do you have any other interviews/offers in the pipeline?
What/when is you start date?

Am I a bad person for finding a little joy in GF's inability to be happy with his new job and probably sabotaging himself?

Start date would be about three weeks from today.

I do have a lead for a tech firm in SF, but it's nowhere near close to a final round. The current offer I received needs an answer by the end of the week at the very latest..

Gf,

I went to providence for undergrad and graduated 4 years ago and a lot has changed for the better in those 4 years. Shoot me a pm if you have any questions or need clarifying about anything I'd be happy to help.
