Solid plan. Unless there's some real, unexpected personal connection (turns out you used to bang the interviewer's sister, or something) comes up during the interview, stick to vanilla courtesy.
Just my two cents, obviously. But when people seem like wheedling suck-ups, I just imagine how aggravating it would be to see them every day for years.
