I temporarily lost my face today due to drugs.

But all kidding aside, I am sorry for your troubles. I had the same approach towards a family member who struggled with alcoholism - I would help only if he helped himself, and I refused to let him ruin my life too. Sadly it didn't really help him but I would do it the same way again

I'll be ok; I've decided to just cut off contact all together - it hurts, but I am not going to allow myself to get drawn into this...
The situation is way worse than I would've imagined - that is all I'm going to say.
I am at a complete loss for words; I cannot remember the last time I cried...

so so sorry, biscotti. that must be hard as hell. my heart goes out to you.

Update on dentist adventures - I went in for the other half of my face today and before we got to it I made the stupid, stupid comment that I had a little pain last week. So now I am shot so full of the good stuff that the only thing I can feel on my face is a slight scratching of a drying contact lens on my right cornea. I also feel like there's some things stuck to my face...oh wait, that's my nose. And my right eye.

god dammit as the novocaine wears off, the pain of the entry wounds from the syringe hurts worse than the ******* pain that i experienced from the non-anesthetized cleaning last week.

Same thing happened to me with a double cavity work last weekend. It's only starting to feel normal now after 8 or 9 days. I kept saying that I could feel it, and he kept shooting me.

I'm so sorry to hear that. If this is what it sounds like, then it looks like you're doing the right thing, at least for now.

@HRoi: Apologies for repeating myself, but nitrous oxide is your friend!

You don't have much of a choice then. No matter what's up tomorrow, you'll have to go! :)
Enjoy!

for some reason I wasn't given the nitrous option  but perhaps it's just as well as I still would like to think of boobies as my precious playthings instead of lumps of fat

sorry Biscotti,

****, it's been 12 hours and I can't walk without limping. I'm on my way home, so aside from a long fligth I don't have to worry about much. I've never had a pulled muscle this bad. and the really fucked up part is it wasn't at crossfit, or boxing, or running a race, or lifting weights, it was during a silly race for a team building thing.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out with only Novocain and nitrous. Getting all the shots was the worst part; I remember it being sort of funny that I could hear my teeth crunching as he used pliers on them. I fell asleep before the Novocain wore off.

I was doing some work in the lab with nitrous and it was a hell of a temptation to take hits off the gas cylinder

There is a restroom in the building I work at. In this restroom there are two paper towel dispensers. (They are for drying your hands after you wash them.) The one on the left never works. I mean never. Does that stop me from trying to use it? No. It makes me mad that I keep trying to use it even though it never works, as it suggests that I am dim-witted or something. It's sort of like when I lose my stamps: I really should learn, but I never, ever do.

Worker's comp!

And that's a piss off. I can tell so many stories about people trying to get permanent disability. I mean, when you fold laundry for a living and have had four worker's camp claims in 18 months? Who the **** do you think you're fooling?
