The irony is they give you a bunch of money, and it is still a coin flip if that outcome will happen.

I am hardy enough of spirit to face up to it don't need you to "soften the blow" so to speak by calling it an issue.

That's quite the issue you have there.

I have issues with that issue.

I'm not trying to get into a "big dick" contest here but I've won more than I've lost. I'll just say that.

Do you define "won" as a dismissal? If so you are a Hell of a Lawyer.

Most of the hotshot lawyers I know in Houston would define a win as a great reduction in charges or a favorable plea bargain. A dismissal is a game winning home run.

I'll believe it when I see those transcripts I keep hearing about.

That means they'll show up around 3pm.

I hate that. I mean, lawyers, doctors, all professionals set actual times. Blue collar working stiffs want to hold you hostage for hours.

Are you being a little bit ironic? I get ridiculously annoyed and resentful when I'm in pB's position. But to be fair to those working stiffs, when I was in private practice my schedule probably would have been much more unpredictable if I had to meet with 8 different clients in a day, all at their respective homes or offices.
That's one of the nice things about having a lot of your clients be in jail. You can efficiently meet with several of them in one trip to the detention center.

In any event, my resentment generally goes not to the actual service people, but to the company, which is creating the problem by trying to get by with as few service personnel as possible.

When I make appointments, I say "I'm gonna send it up to the Lord just let Him decide the hour of mine appearance at the meeting." If anyone complains about this practice, I say "hey you can criticize the Lord's decisions if you want, but I wouldn't recommend it put 'er that way."

I would have fired you then. I have a Lombardi time thing going and anyone that works for me, is a vendor of mine, hired professional, knows I run on Lombardi time. Even my physician knows not to fuck with my schedule. I think most people are trainable, as you develop a relationship with them, but one off labourers there's no chance of that.

It is a helping verb that you use for the past tense. As in "I han sent it up to the Lord let Him decide in His wisdom."
