Things That Are Bothering You, Got You All Hibbeldy-Jibbeldy, or just downright pissed, RIGHT NOW! - Page 4916

I don't wear my watch while traveling in warmer places, which is mostly due to tan lines, as long as you don't wear gold or large branding, you are good to go.

When walking around somewhere, I'm not familiar with I carry money, phone, cc, hotel key.

Spare CC etc. is back at the hotel.

The baltic states were pretty neat.

Traveling with an azn was funny, because not a single person expected you to know the local language...they were more like, who is this chinese dude who is with a white dude instead of a tour bus of other chinese people (always making sure to taste the finest in local chinese cuisine).

Of course it's a hit and miss.
I am mostly referring to this people who walk off of the plane in some of the countries already mentioned with their gold watch/chain/waving their phone around and not paying attention to their surroundings.

Foreigners can get sized up as soon as they land at the airport. As soon as they jump into a taxi. As soon as they check into a hotel.

I have never had an issue. I don;t carry a wallet when I travel(I leave it at the hotel) because I don;t need many of the items inside. I don;t even carry my phone(leave at hotel) because I like to "detach" and enjoy/take in the country/city I am in vs surfing the web.

I do wear a Citizen aviator watch that I have had for appr 25 years on a rubber strap as it is durable and shows multiple time zones.

Like I said, I have never had a problem.

I would not go to Cuba as a) too many Canadians go and b) it's like a right of passage for US liberals. Really not people I want to hang with on vacation.

Apple updates saying 1 minute left, for 10 minutes.

And your 90% of your dollars go strraight to murderous Castros...

My friend went to castro's birthday party around maybe...2002 (although fidel himself either didn't show or wasn't there at the same times)?

Not sure exactly how they got in in the midst of the Bush era. I think that was before he cracked down on the restrictions and they had existing contacts in Cuba. Wasn't that hard to get in for "educational" purposes.

But I wouldn't want to go to cuba in a situation like GFs. You can do Cuba when you have a job...I've never been, but I bet you could make a pretty solid long weekend out of it, wouldn't even need a week of vacation.

Hit a shit ton of Europe if you haven't done it. Just because "everybody" does it doesn't make it bad...the foundations of western civilization are stored in those old European countries. The statue of david, Picasso's guernica, the leaning tower of Pisa, etc. are all things you really should see in person. Easier ride than going through the developing world, but its not like you can't find plenty of things off the beaten path when you have the luxury of time.

If you still had a car...do an every-state road trip:

I have no interest in visiting South, or Central America. I mean, i'd go, but it certainly isn't priority.

I'm leaning towards Medellin right now. Anyone been there?

Also, hostels vs. couchsurfing vs. hotels? Leaning towards hostels / couchsurfing so I can meet other tourists and solo-travelers.

I haven't been but my uncle has a handful of times and speaks very highly of Medellin.

Two questions:

1. Which of your cars will you let me drive?

And

2. Given that you'll let me drive all your cars, can I take phone calls on my Apple Watch in them?

--

Kinda weird being home, jobless, ant not WFH while still employed. I'm going to get myself some Indian lunch buffet and apply for jobs at a coffee shop afterwards.

F..funemployment?

Choose between crazy trip and searching for jobs, decisively. If you choose trip, make it happen immediately. If you choose job, treat finding a job like a full time job.

Applying on websites is about as useful as stuffing a pile of ants into a mug attached to helium balloons and letting them fly away. Apply online first then force yourself into the building to talk to HR or hiring manager.
