since its the end of the fiscal year, my team is freaking out, too. if they don't hit thier number they lose a pretty big travel bonus, and they don't get to stand with the big boys at the company party and get a piece of cristal.

so one of my guys has been freaking out all week - he told me that the report that keeps track of his sales had changed and he lost 200K in sales over night, and he was really pissed off. so I asked people and nobody knew anything, so I set up a conference call, it turns out he had read the wrong report, he had read a report that told him what last years sales were year to date, and he was basing stuff off of that. so after he yells at everyone and acts likea kid on a tantrum, he then has to appologize.

Moving to a new floor on my building with an "open" floorplan. Not happy about it.

I'm pretty sure a couple guys here were talking recently about how their families are completely screwed up and how that's affected them. I would like to just chime in and say, "I'm right there with you." Seriously, I don't know what the **** is wrong with half the people in my family, but it's staggering how idiotic these people can be. Every time I think the stupidity has taken a hiatus, someone does something to kick it up another notch. So, thank you, family member, for screwing up again.

On the bright side, everyone on both sides of my family has great hair, so I've got that going for me. My great grandfather died a few years ago at 104, and he had a fantastic head of hair.

+1, ******* this.

I'm keeping at least 100 plates spinning at the moment and something just went down with my Board where the brand new chair was supposed to spearhead an aspect of our new expansion and he bailed...leaving me to have to take over and it's something way outside my comfort zone...his (supposed) area of expertise. Rat bastard, I did not need another project where I first have to research and teach myself wtf I'm doing.

Well that blows. How does the president of a board just bail out on a project? What the **** kind of president is that?

I know for a fact that they don't. Well, at the very least, they're wrong if they do. By most metrics, I'm one of the most grounded, successful people in my bloodline.

What you have to understand is that, at least in this context, when I complain about my family I'm not just griping about having some people in it who are crazy, hard to deal with, and so on. My family certainly has its share of that, as well, but I'm talking about much more shameful stuff than that. I mean next-level, I hope to have a career that could make me pretty visible so I hope they don't **** up my last name too bad, I'm ashamed to come from you people type stuff. I try not to talk about it much around here, both because I don't want to air family grievances and because I don't want to sound whiny, but some things went down today that just drove home how fucked up these people can be.

I'm sure it has its upsides. My family isn't all bad. Indeed, there are some really amazing people in it (my mother, the aforementioned great grandfather), but it also gets really tiring always having a story that can one-up most people's "my family is so screwed up" tales.
