Roommate is getting on my nerves.

1.) For the past couple of weeks his tongue has been twitching. He has utterly convinced himself that he has ALS and is wallowing in misery. I've had issues with anxiety and hypochondria but this is far worse. I was at my parents' house last night but he apparently went to the ER and told the docs about his concerns. They told him what the two or three other doctors already did: you are suffering from anxiety, not ALS or any other motor neuron disease. But it's just not clicking with him, and the Xanax and Abilify don't seem to be doing the trick. At this point my patience is gone and I've been very terse and harsh. Just can't take it anymore.

2.) He has been asking to use my car with greater frequency. It used to be once or twice a month, which is fine. Occasionally he considers getting his own ride but always backs off due to cost and the fact that his credit is terrible. I really don't know how he does it, this is a totally car-dependent area. Our neighborhood is very walkable, luckily, but you just can't leave the 'hood without a car.

3.) Always asks to eat whatever leftovers I have in the fridge. I cook in fairly large batches so that I have leftovers for lunch and/or dinner the next day. He knows this, yet will still ask. Tonight I flat-out said, "Nope, that's my food for tomorrow." Can't recall the last time I saw him cook anything.

Not a bad guy but this woe-is-me malaise of his is driving me crazy. Looking forward to getting a 1BR next year.

jaw has been aching since Friday. Dentist can't find anything wrong, but I'm on antibiotics and pain meds all the same. Not taking the high-octane pain meds, yet. Things haven't gotten much better, though. :(

I hope it's not ALS.

Seriously, jaw pain is one of the worst kinds of pain IME. I hope you feel better soon.

Thomas, hope the jaw gets better, soon. I have a low tolerance for pain, so I would have gulped the more potent meds by now; I hope it doesn't get worse that you have to take them.

Throbbing or constant pain? Problem with hot and cold liquid? Is your bite off?

Ill trade roommates in a heart beat. We usually go to this really authentic mexican place for burritos sunday nights...4 oclock rolls around and he locks himself in his room...i knock on his door at 630 which is when we usually go. No answer. Im like w/e im watching green bay 49ers game i can wait till its over. 8 rolls along...he finally comes out of his room. We going to el pelon? Nah im not hungry.

Then he goes in the kitchen and takes the trash out of the container and puts a new bag in there but doesnt actually toss it out. Now I always bring the trash to the dumpster but I was away most this week and it is pretty much all his so I want to see if he will do it himself...looks like I have my answer.

As I cleaned my place this morning he sat in bed not helping...

I was stung by a be last week and part of the stinger was still in there and I didnt notice...it started getting swollen friday so I started taking bendrly and between that and a few beers I was pretty tired and went to bed early. He came back from being out last night busted open my door waking me up but I pretended I was asleep because I didnt want to deal with his BS.

Oh and he hasnt showered today...that if anything else bugs me the most because I am a very clean person and he well...isnt and smells. I am thinking about getting those glade plug ins or something. It bothered me in college but its bothering me more now.

edit:

I installed ms office on my pc so I could update my resume and write a few cover letters...I just dont know what to say in them. But I got an email from the company to apply a few weeks ago. The only reason I havent acted with a ton of urgency is this is entry level for students graduating next spring so they will probably accept applications through september...well I graduated in 11 but this is pretty much what I want to do.

The people here in Mexico City are so jam packed in the space that they have, and so poor, that many of them live 4-5+ to each apartment and more to a house. Whole families, multiple families, etc.. It has pushed the young people out into the streets when they want to be with their girlfriend/boyfriend. Everywhere I turn there are people making out on the streets. At first it was sweet. Now its just making me depressingly lonely.

I'm certain he checked, but just to be sure did he do the full otolayngolical check-up? It might be caused by a sinus/ear infection.

tanks, in my worse moments I wonder if it's a tumor.

About once a day I look at the bottle and wish I hadn't taken the ibuprofen. I can either go ibuprofen or the pain meds, but not both.

I've always been cold-intolerant, but heat is an issue now. It comes and goes. For instance, yesterday I woke up and was fine. Studied an hour and was good, then I ran for an hour - still fine. Then I got into the shower and things went bad quickly.

thomas and acid, :(

+1. you guys know where to find me if you need a shoulder.

I might hop a plane to Mexico. I think my passport's current and the meds are sometimes better.

Actually, no. X-rays to find tooth trouble and that was about it. This was a new dentist in an dental office I've been with since '05, but I'm seriously considering switching. Anyway I'm on antibiotics all the same so it should clear up.
