Really? BBQ = "low and slow" vs. grilling = high temp and short cooking time. I would say grilling does not require BBQ sauce but that some BBQ does in fact require it. Pulled pork with no sauce?

Yup. No sauce. I love BBQ, but I absolutely hate BBQ sauce.

I just sent out an extremely angry letter to my condo board and everybody in my whole building. This complaining, racist, nazi bitch became board president recently and she's made it so pretty much nobody can get packages unless they are home to sign for them. It's a bit complicated, but I am sick of having packages sent back to the sender because she doesn't want any delivery people to have the building code. I kind of let my anger get the best of me, but fuck it, I never complain to anybody about minor building inconveniences so I feel I've earned this one.

I always thought that the letter I looked like the angriest letter. Mainly because it looks like an exclamation point and also like a raised middle finger

That one dude who moves pB's coat has finally caused pB's rage to boil over onto everyone.

lol. bitch, please. You know how much goddamned, heaven-sent, slap-yo-mamma-its-so-good pulled pork/ribs I eat and how rarely I put sauce on it?

Sauceless pulled pork sandwich with pickled onions? Oooooooweeee I could go for one right now.

FWIW, I'll occasionally have pulled pork without sauce, but that is only when I'm at a Carolina-style place with awesome pork (I hate Carolina sauce but like the pork). However, given the choice, I'll always take good sauce over no sauce.

Ribs without sauce is weird. I know people do it, but it's weird.

Eschewing sauce categorically is also odd, but strange BBQ preferences aren't altogether shocking from a Kentuckian.

If the pork is perfect, it doesn't need sauce....

But there are some tasty tasty sauces out there...there is a difference between enhancing an already good sandwich and masking the flavor/dryness of a bad sandwich. Also, the longer it sits out at a party, the more you are going to want to sauce it.

When I freeze pulled pork, I usually squirt some sauce in the bottom of the foodsaver bag before sealing...then when I want to eat it, I toss the frozen/sealed bag in a pot of water and bring back up to 170 or so.

My current bottle of homemade sauce is something along these lines (and staying low on the honey/sugar): http://amazingribs.com/recipes/BBQ_sauces/kansas_city_classic_BBQ_sauce.html

You know in the great Commonwealth of Kentucky they prefer mutton as their BBQ meat of choice? At least in some parts they do.

I like sauce on my pulled pork not because it's crappy pulled pork, rather I enjoy the taste of the sauce.

BBQ people, like coffee people, can be annoying. "You used a dry rub because you're a punk ass bitch who doesn't know how to make good BBQ."

funny story about that "type" of foodie ... one of the most chill guys I've ever met on this forum is MarkFromPlano. He's great to hang out with. I forget where on the forum it was, and I even forget how long ago, but we were talking about chili, and he turned into a chili nazi. "You like beans in your chili??? Why would you do that?!? Real chili doesn't have beans. No no no, no beans. You've never had real chili have you???"

I lol'ed a lot that night.

Yes, I did know this. Kentucky is a great place that has given us a number of wonderful gifts, but, when it comes to BBQ, I'll look elsewhere, TYVM.

Two summers ago I was at Subway with the Grillin' Fool. He asked the SA (sandwich artist) what kind of barbecue sauce they put on the Applewood Pulled Pork Sandwich. The SA was like "I don't know it's just the sauce that comes on the truck I don't ask too many questions you know?" This set Grillin' Fool on edge, but he kept his cool said "My trusty sense of smell tells me it's a Carolina varietal but I do need clarification on whether it is a Raleigh blend or more of an Durham blend." SA was like "Beats the shit outta me I don't know I'm just a minimum wage makin' kid what puts together sandwiches." With that, Grillin' Fool canceled his order and directed the SA to donate his sandwich to the homeless, who probably wouldn't even care what kind of sauce was on the sandwich.
