I went 0 for 7 this opera season in terms of being seated next to an attractive person. (Male or female, I'm not picky.) I called the opera company and asked for a partial refund. They said that was the most ridiculous thing they'd ever heard. I agreed that it was pretty ridiculous to go 0 for 7 like that, so I'm confident I'll get some money returned to me.

Maybe I was the attractive person they were allowing the other patrons to sit next to! That would certainly alter my views of what went down this season. (In the spirit of honesty, though, I have to acknowledge that that's not likely. :( )

I was about to visit the liquor store for rum and then realized it's like 109 F outside. Not worth leaving the office, I'm afraid.

Are you sure being seated next to attractive people is a good thing? I mean, you do tend to weep during these shows.

I don't blubber though, or make any kinds of audible sounds. It's just that my eyes are bemoistened a little bit during certain parts of the opera. Such as when the White Rabbit sings about being unworthy of love after he loses his gloves and fan. ("Without my gloves, there can be no love.... What the world needs now is love, sweeeeeet gloves.") Anyone's eyes would bemoisten during that scene, at least a little bit.

Another event has embittered me in just the last few moments, so I will report it here. I ordered a couple of atomizers, which were supposed to be pink. The supplier sent me red, explaining that they were out of pink. They should have told me that before they shipped.

I wept just reading that.

Mr. Pink Atomizers really should go set himself on fire, btw.

You can send some of the stuff to me if it will help ease your conscience a little bit. (Unless it is children's books or clothes or stuff like that. Or perishable foods.)

It's mostly clothes (for me) and children books (for all). Perishable foods get eaten. All other purchases (electronics and such) get destroyed within about 6 months.
